Perfect location for Colchester, straight out onto the high street

Room was a little tired and bed was a bit uncomfortable. Reception and bar area was cold, I think partly because the downstairs outside door was always ajar and would not close on its own.

Beautiful place to stay highly recommended. This hotel is amazing. 500 years old .If like history it's got some story's to tell . Staff helpful and friendly. Angela was brilliant telling us all about the red lion and it's secrets thank you angela. We will be going back for a longer stay soon . Tom and Luisa.

Noise from the street carried into the bedroom.

The location is really good , in the city centre

This hotel needs a refurbishment as it’s very tired. Every floor creaks when moving around in the room. The water pressure is quite low so the shower ain’t great and everything in the breakfast was over cooked.

Everything, it smelt it was dirty. Bed covers were dirty rubbish on the floor
