Hotel Minerva

If you are planning on staying in Sorrento, I would highly recommend the Minerva Hotel. It is a 10 minute walk to the center of town (downhill on the way in and up hill on the way back), but the hotel staff and views are more than worth it! The entire staff was excellent, the rooms were clean and bright and Giuseppe’s smiling face in the dining room every morning at breakfast was the highlight of our mornings!

Beautiful views..

Variety of choice of meals both in the pool bar and at Dinner. Very few traditional Italian or vegetarian options. Would have liked many more pasta and Pizza on the menu at dinner and maybe some toasties with various fillings at the pool bar.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Minerva! The views from our rooms, the restaurant, and pool were simply stunning. We could have looked out over the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius all day. Our rooms were perfect and we spent a lot of time on our peaceful balconies. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were fabulous - and so was the charming and helpful staff. We really enjoyed the rooftop pool. The hotel was beautifully decorated and there were many places to relax. After busy days of sightseeing, the hotel was a peaceful haven. It's about a 15 minute walk into town but we didn't mind. Will definitely return!

We liked that it was a little bit of a walk away from the centre…not so much day 1 as taxi strike and we had to get a bus and walk. Beautiful views and excellent staff

Views from the hotel are fabulous, having breakfast while looking out over the bay of naples is stunning. The staff are fantastic and the hotel is lovely. Only at 10 to 15 min walk to Sorrento. However, we booked the annex room with balcony. Its on the 1st floor, the balcony gets no sun and the traffic noise is relentless so we could never use it. By all means book this hotel but book a different room.

Incredible view from our room, wonderful staff! Comfortable and large rooms. The restaurant views are unbeatable. The hotel is a little outside of the town center, and the walk (10-15 minutes) might be too challenging for those with limited mobility, but otherwise, I'd highly recommend this hotel.

From our room with a terrace we enjoyed spectacular views across the Bay of Naples with Naples in the distance. The restaurant also has the same views and service is excellent. It is a good base from which to visit Capri and the Amalfi Coast. The walk to downtown Sorrento is short and it was nice to retreat from the crowds back to this lovely hotel.

The view was outstanding and the staff amazing - I would happily go back tomorrow. Our room on the 4th floor was high enough to avoid most traffic noise - it was also spotless and had an incredible view - however it was sometimes cold in the evening - and we didn't know until check out that we could have asked for the individual room heating to be switched on. My main issue booking as half board was that dinner was at best mixed - very obviously produced to a budget. There was always lots of food but not always of the standard you would expect in Italy. Breakfasts were basic continental which was fine. And the view from the terrace made up for everything. Bar pretty good too! Would happily return.
