Hotel Minerva

The view from our balcony was incredible, the room was spacious , plenty of storage and spotlessly clean. The staff were lovely and very helpful . Breakfast was amazing!

Stayed for a week at this lovely hotel. The location is wonderful giving unrivalled views over the bay of Naples which makes up for it being slightly out of the centre of town. Dinner on the terrace with the stunning view was an absolute delight as was a pre and post dinner drink watching the sun go down and the lights come on in the town and on the distant slopes of Vesuvius. Our room was of a good size and as advertised, it had a window with the lovely view and was decorated in a charming local style, the hotel is 150 years old so has great style. All the staff at the hotel were wonderful especially Antonio the barman and Giussepe in the restaurant who could not do enough for us and had time to chat and pass on useful information. My only complaint is about the lack of shade and umbrellas on the roof at the pool area (which is lovely). There were approximately 40 plus sunbeds but only 8 umbrellas. Each pair of beds needs an umbrella, there is no other shade if you wish to lay on sunbed. Overall a great hotel but let down this one point as it meant we felt we had nowhere to retreat to in the afternoons and caused some argument and bad feeling amongst the guests as we all competed form the shade.

Loved our view of the ocean and the coast of Sorrento. An easy walk to all Sorrento restaurants and shops as well as the harbor for ferries and right above Marina Grande. Would recommend and would stay again. Breakfast was included. Service was excellent and a lovely rooftop pool to cool off in after sightseeing or shopping

We arrived at the hotel and were shown to our room. It was a large room with a terrace overlooking the sea with the town on the right and Mount Vesuvius on the left in the distance. WOW what a wonderful surprise. The room was lovely but oddly arranged. The bed was facing diagonally towards a huge pillar. The TV was on the wall with the only way to watch it was to move the heavy chairs and a bedside table right underneath it (but who goes on holiday to watch TV?). The bed was so comfortable as were the pillows and we both slept well as the room was so quiet. The hotel is situated up a hill from the town but that just gave us the amazing views so trekking the short distance at the end of the day was not a problem for us (the path narrows in places but generally other users were sensible and we weren’t made to walk in the busy road). Breakfast was amazing. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the sea eating from the extensive buffet was perfect. The restaurant manager was lovely, greeting us with a smile and even giving me a ‘little twirl’.

The hotel is situated up a hill so the views are amazing. We were given a room with a terrace overlooking the sea and town of Sorrento with Mount Vesuvius in the distance. Our room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed for our short stay.

The layout of the room was a bit odd. The TV is on the wall and the only way to see it was to move the heavy chairs and a bedside table to right underneath it, we could not watch it from where the chairs were situated or from the bed but who goes on holiday to watch TV?

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with stunning panoramic views across the bay.

The property is very clean and the view was outstanding overlooking Naples bay,

There is a road under the rooms that it is heavily used, is the on road that leads to the Almaty coast and there is vehicle and motorcycle noise all they long The restaurant food was not pleasant barring the view.

Hotel minerva exceeded all expectations. It was a beaiutiful hotel, with friendly staff and amazing views. If I ever get back to Sorrento , I'll be staying at Hotel Minerva

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Minerva with another couple and we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is well appointed and beautifully decorated. We stayed in a room with a balcony with views of the bay of Naples, Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius. We used our balcony every night. The rooftop pool had a bar and lunch available and spectacular views. We enjoyed breakfast daily and Giusseppe made our mornings special with his cheerful welcome and attentive service. The buffet offerings were expansive and everything was fresh. We also enjoyed lunch at the restaurant and the food and service were excellent. Minverva sits on the cliffs on a hill on the outskirts of Sorrento. We are in our 50’s and 60’s and had no difficulty walking to the town or the port for the Ferry. The hill is gently sloping and a regular walker should be able to manage. We would definitely stay at Hotel Minerva again.

What an amazing hotel! The views are absolutely stunning! The best I’ve seen anywhere. The staff are also a large part of why this place is so good. They are all so helpful and friendly. We looked forward to seeing Giuseppe and his team in the restaurant each day, and Antonio in the bar in the evenings, who was always happy to see you and offer friendly advice. We were half board and ate here 5 out of 7 days. The food is lovely and plenty of it!Not a buffet but a restaurant with a varied menu that changes each day. We stayed in a room with a large balcony (with that incredible view) in the main building. You only get sun in the mornings but in this heat, we welcomed the shade on the occasions we sat out there. As other reviews had mentioned the road noise, we requested a room on a high level (we were in room 511) and we didn’t hear any noise from the road at all! The location is perfect, just a short 10min walk to the centre (worth it for those views) within easy reach to do Pompeii, Positano and Capri, all of which I recommend! The only negatives I can find, is that the showers here are very noisy, if your neighbours shower early it wakes you up! And also, the bathroom needs a hook or towel rail to hang your towels up! A wonderful stay and highly recommend!
