This hotel exceeded our expectations! The outdoor patio, restaurant, the pool, the view from our room balcony and the staff were incredible. We had a great time and the staff was so friendly. The food at the restaurant was delicious and it was nice to have breakfast included. The room was clean and roomy. Also, there was a variety of live music nightly on the outdoor patio. Antonio, the bartender was welcoming and gave us some great dinner recommendations on the water. One note is that it is an easy 10 min walk down hill into town so bring comfortable walking shoes. Thx Giuseppe for your singing and hospitality everyday.

Beautiful hotel, magnificent views. Walking distance from Main Street. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast ! Has the feel of an Italian boutique hotel. Got upgraded to a balcony at check in, overlooking the coast of Sorrento.

July 2025 Just back from Sorrento after a short break at the Hotel Minerva. I can honestly say, it was one of the best hotels I have stayed in. Rooms We stayed on the 5th floor with views across the full bay. The rooms, were clean and well finished with good aircon. They have huge character and for a hotel of its age, they have done an amazing job. The balcony we had was massive, but slightly facing away from Sorrento, but still a fabulous view of the whole of the Bay of Naples. The servicing was exceptional and nothing to fault. Reception Very friendly and efficient with no dramas. Nothing too much trouble. Mario was a great help. Facilities The hotel has many places to sit and relax, no shortage of sofas, books, tables, pictures to add to the ambience although this was not used by many during our stay, but very generous areas for relaxing. We visited the pool on the 8th floor on one occasion. It is quite small but adequate for a rooftop pool for a hotel of this size. We found the smaller pool on the 5th floor beside reception just perfect for cooling off and spent a couple of afternoons lazing around with table service to the adjoining patio for a refreshing drink. Breakfast This was fabulous, probably because of the service - GIUSEPPE - WHAT A STAR! The attention, friendliness and fun of this man makes this place, a real star and a gentleman. The food was really good and plentiful with faultless service. (I dropped my napkin and before I could pick it up, it was replaced - they are that good!) LOCATION!!!!!!!! This is it, you have probably the best view in Sorrento. Just stunning… It is a walk to the start of the town, but 10 mins at most along a narrow path and you are there. We walked up and down a couple of times a day and other than the heat, not problem at all. (We were a bit worried from some of the previous reviews and I would not have a problem recommending the walk unless you have mobility issues) We spent time down at Marina Grande which is at the bottom of the cliff from the hotel. A nice quiet part of Sorrento and would recommend this. Overall, I would go back to Sorrento tomorrow and to this hotel in a heartbeat. Whilst not cheap, you are getting 5 star views, treatment and facilities, so please do go, you won’t regret it. PS I haven’t posted tripadvisor reviews in a long while, but had to due to our stay at the Minerva - just amazing.

We were pleasantly surprised to receive a better room than expected—a truly customer‑friendly gesture from the hotel management. The view over Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius was spectacular, and staying in such a tranquil setting made it ideal for older travelers and couples seeking romance. After exploring the busy, crowded Amalfi Coast, we realized this hotel was the calmest, most beautiful place we encountered. It turned out to be the perfect spot to relax and enjoy ourselves. Service was top-notch, especially considering the price. We couldn’t decide what we enjoyed more—the outstanding breakfast with a panoramic view, lounging by the pool overlooking the bay, or evenings on the hotel terrace. In every respect, our stay exceeded expectations—and we will definitely return.

Just back from an amazing trip to Sorrento and Hotel Minerva. I cannot fault the service and attention of the staff especially in the restaurant. A wonderful hotel, amazing views, lovely food. Kind and thoughtful staff and the best location in Sorrento without doubt.

Hotel Minerva exceeded all my expectations! The views were absolutely stunning, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxing stay. The staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The food was very good, offering a great variety and delicious flavors. I would definitely go back without hesitation. A well-deserved 5 stars!

This is a lovely hotel! We booked last minute for a few extra nights in the Amalfi coast and so pleased- the location is about a 20 min uphill walk from the center. It's not difficult though, and there is a sidewalk. The view from the terrace is amazing. Makes the location uphill worth it and it's quiet. The breakfast is great - lots of options and there was live music at night. The service was excellent! My only "con" is that the mattress was very firm which was a bit difficult for me personally. My back ached in the morning. And the towels weren't very nice- i think an upgrade to nicer towels would be in line with how nice this hotel is. otherwise loved it!

We have just returned from a week at the Minerva - our first holiday without the kids in years and we had a brilliant time. Everything that has been said before is correct. The hotel is absolutely lovely. The staff are brilliant, especially Guiseppe and his team in the restaurant and Antonio and his wife who are responsible for the bar. Also the pool team were great, supplying towels and moving our parasol round so that we were constantly in the shade. I agree that a few more parasols would be good but that is just a small thing. We booked half board & were not disappointed as the food was delicious. I was a bit worried that we were booked into the Annexe but our room was great and you cannot get away from that fantastic view. Great to sit on the terrace for dinner and drinks. I have a feeling we will be returning.
