I had one of the most incredible spring break vacations in a long time with my teen daughter! Since we were traveling without my husband, safety and walkability were very important to me—and this hotel exceeded all expectations. The property is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff truly goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, comfortable, and well taken care of. Managing two businesses and dealing with everyday pressures, I was able to fully disconnect here, which was invaluable. The hotel has direct beach access, which we loved. I enjoyed long walks and runs along the beach while my daughter worked on her tan—perfect for both of us! And the sunsets… simply breathtaking. I’ve traveled quite a bit, and these were some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The rooms are clean, spacious, and feature high ceilings. I also loved the wristband key system—it was super convenient and modern. The hotel offers multiple pools, including additional pools across the street at their sister property, which is just as beautiful. Now let’s talk about the food—because WOW. On the first day, I ordered ceviche, thinking it might be hit or miss since we were in more of a meat-focused area, but it was absolutely delicious. We also had patacones with avocado and meat—so good! Every meal we had at the hotel, including the buffet breakfast, was outstanding. The breakfast buffet, in particular, was one of the most complete and delicious I’ve experienced, and I’ve stayed at many high-end hotels. Another huge plus is the location. The hotel is just steps away from restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops, making it easy and fun to explore the area on foot. Service was consistently excellent, and the hotel has strong security, although we felt safe at all times both inside and outside the property. It was also very easy to coordinate tours, and the location truly couldn’t be better. One tip if you’re planning to sunbathe on the beach: the tide comes up quite a bit. On our first day, it caught us by surprise—our towels got wet and even pulled away our flip flops. I’d recommend setting up closer to the hotel wall area to avoid that. Honestly, it’s a shame I didn’t know about this hotel sooner—I would have absolutely celebrated my wedding here. I 100% recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to coming back!

A beautiful entrance greets you along with color coordinated staff and security. Our sky blue room was very comfortable with two queen beds, fridge and coffee maker. We looked out over palm trees and lighted restaurant with some lively evening music. The ocean and beach were just beyond the treeline and called us out each evening to take amazing sunset pictures. Surfing and beach walks were enjoyable and just steps outside the hotel. Across the rode are three large pools with swim up bars or family oriented fun. Beautiful palm and-flower greenery in Costa Rican style. When shopping for souvenirs be careful of poor sidewalks, broken grates and uneven steps. However, there is an amazing ice cream shop close to the hotel that has delicious options. We had an enjoyable stay and the hotel concierges are able to schedule amazing tours.

Terrible. Supposed to be an easy family friendly vacation. I booked a multi room condo because I am a widow with three kids. I asked at least a month in advance about many things but was given very little information. When I arrived I was told that the condo residents do not have access to the hotel amenities. We are stranded up there with no food. I didn’t rent a car and did not expect to need one.

1 - one of the worst hotels I’ve ever experienced. Rooms were extremely small and dated. Noise from bars outside sounded like we were in a club and/or heard every single voice in the bar across the street. Hotel staff did nothing to help. Aside from noise rooms were terrible - we had 3 hangars, zero blanket and 3 towels for 4 people. Please do Not Stay Here

The pools and lobby look great—that’s about it for positives. BUGS .. everywhere and yes it is a tropical rain forest but that doesn’t mean I want to see hundreds of red ants walking on the walls of my room. I also don’t want to see roaches, mosquitoes and spiders in my room and yet we saw all of them within minutes of entering the room. When we complained, they gave us a different room—the new room still had bugs but just not as many. Also, would it kill you to have working toilets?! Seriously…. I would recommend avoiding this hotel.

Sharing our experience so you know what to expect. This hotel looks great from the outside but is completely disgusting in the rooms. It is a 2-star experience from a room perspective. For context, we stayed in an ocean view room. It was old and not maintained. The rooms were so dirty, shower, floors, etc were so gross. Ants all over the room and shower floor the entire stay. No, that is not typical of CR. Good luck getting towels or washcloths. No coffee refill from room service after the first day. The refrigerator does not get cold. The main light didn’t work in our room. The air conditioning also did not work, it was more like a fan. The road noise is so loud and the door does not keep the noise out. Bring ear plugs if noise bothers you. We stayed with 3 other families and all had similar room experiences. Staff in restaurant are rude starting 10 minute before breakfast ends and at night. They literally act annoyed you want to be in the space. Don’t expect a smiling friendly face. The ocean and pool bar staff were good although they don’t really interact with you like other experiences we have had in other tropical locations. The bar on the ocean side makes great drinks. Pool behind the ocean side is pretty and enjoyable. Food options were good for a couple meals. Breakfast is mid, nothing great but lots of food options. Wrist bands will fall off in ocean and they will charge you $9 each for a replacement so suggest not wearing them in the ocean. Beach was great with options for purchasing surf lessons. No beach chairs from the hotel that you can have on the sand, you need to pay $30 for 2 chairs and 1 umbrella for the day. The town felt very safe walking for food and along the beach which was awesome. Hotel was in a great location.
