Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort

The location on the beach was beautiful. Breakfast was very good.

Room was outdated and needed a remodel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Diria in Tamarindo. It’s right in the heart of Tamarindo which makes it easy to walk anywhere. The hotel is split in half, one side being the main pool area and the other the beach. It’s just a short walk across the road to get to the beach. The setting is beautiful with several lounge chairs available. The breakfast buffet was delicious and had several options. We would definitely go back!

shower not good at all all the time super hot and super cold not control - even dangerous the stupid wrist band doesn’t stay when on the beach and this is a beach hotel, surfing… the local say they find many of the hotel writer bands on the beach and they charge $10 for each that you loose staff were. it nice horrible smell i. bathroom this is my second time staying and same same problems

Excellent stay with a large family group. The property is in good shape, though we were lucky to be in a more recently updated oceanfront room. I think the rooms on the street side would be pretty loud. The breakfast each day is great and the main restaurant (on the ocean side) has good food. Bar service directly at the bars (both main and the pool bar) is not great, but we were fortunate to have Brenda take excellent care of us our last two days when we were relaxing and reading on sun loungers on the lawn overlooking the beach. One thing I would add, is that this would be a great location for families coming with very small children (babies / toddlers). There doesn't appear to be a lot of kids specific activities, per se, but there is a very nice family pool located right by the main pool on the Oceanside of the property that is shallow and close to everything. We met several families with very young kids who were enjoying this option. Members of our group also ate at three other restaurants on the property, the Mexican, Sushi, and pizza restaurants, and all were good.

This hotel is simply magical. It feels like something out of the white lotus tv show. The massive terrace, featuring their wonderful bar, coupled with the gorgeous beach they’re on, and the beautiful sunsets, were huge highlights. They have an incredible breakfast buffet every morning, and the rooms are small but pretty and perfect for a couple. There are so many great bars and restaurants along the beach with so much energy at night and during the day. It’s a five minute walk into the downtown life of Tamarindo, making it a perfect location. The only downside is the brutal driving along the crowded tiny streets, but it’s worth it.

Hotel is beautiful and location is cry central with the beach and the town. I had booked a standard room and based on the description I expected a slightly dated room with possibility of road noise on the first floor. What I did not expect was for it to essentially be a basement unit without no outdoor area and with windows/doors that were greyed out. There were even times when hotel staff would be right outside the glass, and occasionally their heads would be at the top part in the strip where the glass was not greyed we out. Kind of creepy when you get out of the shower. The standard room was still not inexpensive and I would not book it again. Other pros: Breakfast were good, parking convenient, and very walkable location. Other cons: tennis courts apparently have a bee problem so we did not risk it, and housekeeping forgot to replenish our coffee 2 of the days we were there. Overall a nice hotel in a great spot but would strongly advise against booking a Standard room.
