"It was a huge disappointment."

1.0

This is a 3 star hotel pretending to be 5 star.

The staff was rude and unhelpful. They did not clean the room and skipped for 2 days in a row. When we requested a cleaning the reception said that it can only be done in the morning and didn't even change our towels. Restaurant is basic and not worth the money you spend. You can get the same experience in a lodge, not worth the price ticket at all.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Amazing location right on the lake and walkable to many activities. The hotel staff is super friendly and they offer a shuttle within a 2 mile radius. We stayed in a premier room and it was very spacious. The heated bathroom floor and toilet seats were great. The restaurant cocktails and food were delicious. Free breakfast on weekdays (loved the omelette station!). Stay here, you won't be disappointed.

"Poor Wedding Experience"

2.0

We had our wedding this last October. We stumbled across this place by chance when looking at other venues in the area. We feel in love with the view from the terrace which is where we had our ceremony and reception. We were impressed by the front reception staff immediately and booked our wedding about one year in advance. We met with Chelsea our on site Event Sales Manager, and things started off good. But we shortly there after felt like we were a nuisance by asking just a few questions, and we are low maintenance. You should plan on guests staying in other hotels as the wedding party booking process is a PIA, or perhaps this was just the case with our Event Manager, any questions took weeks or more to get a response. On top of that we reviewed pricing one year in advance at what we assumed was our guests budget, but we did not realize that the cost of a room about doubles with all their hidden fees. When we asked for a few minutes to meet and review some details of the site to figure out how and where we had access, and tried to coordinate it with a Sunday Wedding Open House, we were told that was her day off. I asked if she was going to the Open House which she said she was, everything made us feel unappreciated. We literally had 10 minutes of Q&A, which mostly revolved around where things were, what we had access to, so we could start planning decor, and things of that nature. We requested a 30 day prior meeting on site, with our wedding coordinator and Event Sales manager, as we want to review all last details and do a food sampling. Chelsea failed to respondto us or to our Coordinator, nor did she show up. Our coordinator had to call her manager to see what was going on, finally got her cell phone, she said she was working from home that day. We literally had no phone calls from our Event Sales Manager for the final 3 months. Once they have your money and commitment they no longer appreciate you or want to put any energy into you. Our Event Sales Coordinator ended up going to her high school reunion the weekend of our wedding, which would be fine if she informed us and told us an alternate contact should any issues arise, but it was a no call no show. Luckily our wedding coordinator was amazing, and had done many weddings at this site. They did REQUIRE a tip in advance of 20%. I asked than about if a tip jar would be placed at the bar and was told no that it would not. When we and the wedding party got down to the reception well after everyone else already there we found that there was a tip jar where they were asking all guest for more tips!! With no point of contact on site, we did nothing during the wedding as we wanted to focus on our day and deal with issues afterwards. After the wedding we spoke with her manager Keeley, told her of the main shortcomings during the process, in which she admitted things did not go as they should. When I asked for a few hundred dollars back for the double tipping I was told no way. She spoke with corporate and GM and they did not care, once they have you money. All the other people onsite were great. But if you go here, do not pay final amount until after the wedding. Challenge the up front tips, and be prepared that after you give them money they no longer care about making your day special. The Landing refused to respond to a complaint from the Better Business Bureau.

"Best stay on the lake!"

10.0

Exceeded expectations! Beautifully appointed rooms, clean, luxurious and comfortable. Location can’t be beat on the lake. Things that stood out; s’mores kits for the kids, huge hot tub, free champagne, fireplace in room. Staff and manager took unbelievably good care of us. Our new must stay spot in South Lake! We’ll be back for sure!

"Avoid now until construction is finished."

4.0

Extremely disappointing due to the ongoing construction. I chose this place because I thought it would be good for my family. The lack of on-site dining or breakfast was inconvenient for having young children. If I knew about the construction, I would have chosen to stay elsewhere, and their booking process certainly did not make this clear to me. Also, the old building really felt like any other ancient Tahoe road-side motel. Even though the interiors were fine, the outdoor entry and rickety stairs was not what I was I was expecting. I would recommend making sure the rooms you choose are in the newer building. We were in a "Lakeview two queens" room, which I would not recommend.

"Loved the Landings - beautiful room, property and shuttle service !"

10.0

Loved the room layout, fireplace and amenities. Great bathroom and spa tub. And of course, lake view is beautiful. Coffee bar, cocoa bar and s’more station great additions. Used the shuttle service multiple times and the service was EXCELLENT - making the extra few blocks to the gondola / Village no issue. Would highly recommend!

Sadly, the restaurant was closed when we were there.

"Good stay but wish construction was already completed"

7.0

Great location for visiting South Lake Tahoe.

It was disappointing to learn Jimmy’s was closed due to construction. Also that there wasn’t no breakfast available for the same reason.
