Had a great time with my family

10 minute walk from the beach, 20 min walk to the boardwalk, spacious rooms, and relatively clean. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. We needed the smoke detector battery changed upon arrival, and it was done quickly for us. Maid service arrived promptly each day, and any questions we had about the area were answered by the staff, who knew the area well. Beds were satisfactory- although the pull out couch bed was crazy uncomfortable. Certainly not a 5 star hotel, but for the price and location, Cara Mara is hard to beat. The facility includes both a regular and kiddie pool, picnic area, and gas powered grills for cooking. Our room (which could sleep 6) also featured a dining table, tv, mirror, dresser, fridge, sink, and stove burners. The bathroom was very clean which is a huge plus. There's also an outdoor shower and game room for rainy days. I've stayed at a few places along the shore over the years, and bottom line is Cara Mara is quite comfortable and pleasant for the price and location. Not the best place I've stayed on the Shore, but by far not the worst. Definitely recommend this place for the friendly staff, decent rooms, friendly staff, and price!

Good budget hotel with very close location to attractions

I made this reservation for my sister's wedding over memorial day weekend. I think, because I was renting this on Orbitz, I assumed this was a standard hotel. It is not. This is an old timey motel that has been turned into beach condos. We rented a one-room condo that had a microwave, little fridge and coffee maker. One queen bed and sofa bed. A couple things make this different from a normal hotel - 1. There is not someone at the desk all the time. When we were there, there was only someone at the front desk from 9 am - 8 pm. I just called to arrange late check in and called again to leave early. 2. The wifi is spotty. Real spotty. If you're planning on streaming anything for rainy beach days, that's not going to happen. 3. It was a little dirty. Again - about as clean as a normal airbnb. Not as clean as a holiday inn. It is right by the beach. That part is fantastic. This is a great community. So I don't want my review to put you off, but if you are looking for a more traditional hotel experience, this is not it.

Nice room and friendly staff. I was able to ad a night with no issue. The location was very convienent.

We liked the room and the loved the location on the island. The rooms were nicely decorated and neat. Everything was very convenient. We stayed two nights but was surprised the sheets were not changed. The mattress wasn't the greatest, but it was acceptable, a little too hard for us. All in all we would probably use this hotel again in the future.

Clean motel, friendly staff, awesome location 20 steps from the beach.

Didn't clean the room once in 3 days. Left towels on the table the second day but never took the dirty ones. I would not recommend staying at this hotel again. Plus the pool closed at 8 during the summer hours.

Room was nice like that the bedroom was separate from the living room/kitchen. Did not see a maid or have clean towels, had to get them myself.

Could use some updating. Only air conditioner was in the back in the bedroom, so the front room didn't really cool down too much but you could hang meat in the bed room. Room service didn't really do anything other than bring a couple towels and a roll of toilet paper. Floors were always sandy feeling cause they were never swept.
