Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury by IHG

Reception looked lovely and welcoming and staff were very approachable and friendly.

We booked the hotel for a quick overnight stay. £85 , inclusive of breakfast . Hotel has been refurbished, but done at very low cost, which is obvious. The outside looks ok at the front, but to the side, by the carpark it looks tired, and in need of updating or some tlc. Restaurant food was standard , not enough staff working -1 poor girl to do the bar, take orders, clear tables, and serve meals. Room was nice enough, standard double, clean, good shower, decent bed, but no plugs at either side of the bed to charge mobiles, which I've never come across before. Breakfast was help yourself, selection of cereals,lightly cooked fatty bacon, undercooked cheap sausage, tasteless scrambled egg, and had to go through numerous plates before finding a clean one, as did other residents. Reception staff friendly. Don't honestly think I'd stay here again regardless of the price.

Fully refurbished room, barhroom great and bed and bed linen very comfy. Buffet breakfast a bit poor but adequate. Worst point was the sewage smell when outside.

My room was not serviced on the second day. No air conditioning

Easy check in, rooms ok and plenty of space. Good free wifi. No problem parking. Gym a bit old and tired but a nice surprise

Overall a pleasant stay. Professional, friendly staff and the room was very clean. The only negative was that the tea cups/mugs were not cleaned or swapped so had to wash them ourselves. Overall would stay again.

1. Carpets were stained 2. Shower room ceiling had mould and water marks/leaks stains from above floors, which was disgusting and 3. Lifts throughout the hotel were broken/not working and they then gave me a room on 3rd floor even though I had limited mobility/ a bad leg! Absolutely no consideration for people with limited mobility! Not impressed.

A good standard of hotel. Good breakfast and service.

A few issues - I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it . Safe broken, No shower gel, dead bugs on window seal, Room to hot as couldn’t open window due to smell of sewage it was just vile. Crockery at breakfast dirty and breakfast was just passable. Complained but staff didn’t seem to care or know what any one was doing.
