"Blessings in Jamaica"

‘Welcome home’ in all its finery. We are returning guests, and after a wobbly start this was our best trip yet, no doubt linked to the excellent management and leadership team. Omar, Marvin, and Samantha, what a team, working tirelessly to ensure that our holiday was everything and more. Beautiful souls, beautiful food, we had the time of our life. The hotel continues to deliver, and is better than ever, peaceful, intimate and personal. The freshest of fruit and seafood daily. The stand out of the show is the ‘your wish is my command’ concept, feels as if anything (reasonable) is possible, and the entire staff team do all they can to ensure your holiday is wonderful. Anthony our butler was fantastic, his smile and joyful demeanour is a wonderful addition to a beautiful Caribbean day. Anthony is a credit to Sandals, fulfilling any promise he makes, professional, helpful, and takes the initiative, you don’t even realise you want a hot bubble bath until you get back to your room and it’s there (with beautiful flowers too). The spa and a massage from Shirley were delightful, our best massages to date (no easy task given we enjoy massages throughout our travels). Omar I cannot praise the GM enough, our expectations are high and Omar exceeded any expectations we have. He is present, visible and connected to the guest and their experience at all times. Where in the world does the GM go to the local supermarket to purchase a new hair comb for you because yours is lost, within hours of my hair comb being lost I gratefully received replacements, and Omar did not consider it resolved until I had exactly the right replacement. The team at sandals continue to do what they do best, they smile, laugh, sing, cook the finest and freshest food, deliver anything that you ask for, and thank God for their blessings, beautiful and humble souls.

"Small Paradise"

The resort is small and intimate but the staff makes it grand. Omar Robinson(the general manager) knows everyone’s names and greets you by name each time he sees you. We had an amazing time and will go back again. Special shout out to Mr Bean, Sequoia and Horacio. Of course our butlers Andre and “the best looking butler” made sure our vacation stay received the right amount of pampering. Uncle Charlie made the best omelettes!

"Awesome Hotel, staff and resort!"

From start to finish everything about this hotel was fantastic! The resort, the staff, the food, cleanliness, rooms, service, choice of drinks, facilities and location were all absolutely brilliant! The entire team of staff were always friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for you. The butlers worked tirelessly to make our stay even more memorable! If you can find fault with this resort and the staff you're just nit picking and probably one of life's miserable people who moan at every opportunity! So don't do it!

"Our favourite Sandals"

Two weeks at Sandals Royal Plantation (SRP) and it’s been amazing. This place is definitely our favourite Sandals. It’s small, intimate, and the service is so personal. Gorgeous layout (if you don’t mind a few steps), amazing food, and easy access to Dunn’s River and Ochi. Plus, we met some incredible staff and guests who made the experience even better. Our butlers, Gladstone and Sherril, were great, sorted us out with all the things we needed and nothing seemed too much trouble (although we don’t ask for much!) Beach butlers Trevado and Daniello are amazing and have a second sense for exactly the drink you need without asking! The breakfast and lunch team of Stephnie, Stacey-Ann, Sherika and Vanya were lovely everyday. We had great service at the bar from Garnet and Junior, supported brilliantly by Tressell. And at our final meal at Le Papillon, our server Chevon was a ray of sunshine! Whilst SRP has a low key vibe, we had one of the best nights we’ve ever had in the Caribbean (and one of the worst mornings after!) Lots of dancing and singing with new friends, with GM Omar tearing up the dance floor all night. Will miss Omar and Marvin’s daily rounds with the boozy popsicles! We have not yet returned to a resort but in a first for us, we are booked to come back next year. Counting down the days already!

"Back home in paradise!"

Our 3rd trip ‘home’ and it didn’t disappoint! So much to say about this beautiful resort that I don’t know where to start! The grounds, the accommodation, the staff - all are exceptional. We stayed in a royal monarch room and although we didn’t get the floor we requested we were happy with our room. All the rooms we’ve stayed in so far have been lovely. They have recently had a little facelift too which is nice but kept the traditional Caribbean style which we love about Royal Plantation. Our housekeepers kept our room beautifully clean and our bed was turn-downed every night. We had Alrick and Adrian aka Biggs again for butlers as requested and they were again fabulous, nothing was too much trouble. The staff is really what puts this property above and beyond, to mention a few - Sherika and Stephanie at breakfast who really looked after us also Vanya with her conversation and smile. The beach butler’s Daniello and Trevardo who made sure you always had a cool drink! Those mango Daiquiris were delicious! And the always smiling Garnet in the wobbly peacock who when they didn’t have any st Germain liqueur for a Hugo spritz he made me a delicious alternative drink which we named the Becci Spritz haha! It was sooo good! Also Junior and Tressel ( sp could be wrong! ) always looking after us. Another mention was the chef Leroy - he cooked the best steak down at The Grill one night, omg it was better than what we had in the French restaurant! It was lovely to see the fabulous GM Omar again, still bossing it as GM still remembering every guests name wow! Also Marvin and Wayne doing great jobs. Food was all pretty good, service a little slow at times in the French restaurant, maybe under staffed. But didn’t affect our enjoyment of the meal. I do think maybe a rotation each week on menus could be good as if staying for longer than a week menus can feel a bit limited. The same with the entertainment, I do think that this is one area that needs to be addressed at RP - it’s very limited and predictable. Yes I know you can go other to Ochi etc to the rabbit hole but RP is beautiful and honestly we would rather have better entertainment there than have to go to Ochi. The entertainment staff seems to have lost a bit of their sparkle and feels like they are going through the motions a little. We did the blue mountain biking and hiking trip which really enjoyed but it’s a long day and drive so just be prepared and we were also lucky enough to be there for a turtle release! A bucket list experience for sure ! We have rebooked for 2027 and I’m missing my morning mimosa and that beautiful view already! Oh talking of views my other moan why do the catamarans have to be moored up in front of the hotel?! It really ruins the view when sitting on the beach or dock and especially at sunset just a little gripe. We used club Kingston on both arrival and departure and it’s a must in my opinion. Transfers were smooth and pretty quick despite the distance to hotel.

"Another wonderful stay at Sandals Royal Plantation"

Wonderful visit to Sandals RP. Made to feel welcome and at home the moment we stepped out of the transfer taxi. All the team from GM Omar and Customer Services Director Marvin to the lovely interns in the restaurant’s and working around the pool were committed to ensuring everyone had a truly memorable holiday. A huge thank you to everyone for a wonderful time. Marvin and Bebeto were once again outstanding and provided a service second to none. A special mention to Stephanie and Sherika and all the ladies in the Terrace who provided the perfect start to everyday. Also to Garnet and Tresell in the Wobbly Peacock who ensured our glades were never dry and mixed some devilish cocktails, the Martini night was one to remember, or so I’m told 😵‍💫😵‍💫 The food in all the Restaurants was top class and the service and atmosphere were superb, the speciality nights on the terrace were lovely and the evening entertainment was great. Sadly 😥, I cannot remember the names of the beach butlers, but they work so hard to keep everyone fed and watered and demonstrate amazing skill as the balance drinks and plates as they move around the resort. A huge thank you to everyone we cannot wait to return next year

"It's not the building, it's the people!"

It's not the building, views, or even the food that keep us coming back. We just completed our sixth stay here over the past 15 years and some of the same employees are still there. Getting to know the staff is truly the best part. The managers, Omar and Marvin, are running this place as if it was their own home. Always checking on guests by name, checking the food, and really caring about the experience. You will certainly find prettier rooms with fancy bathrooms all over the Caribbean, but you'll never find better hospitality and personalized service. If you want anything all, just ask. They'll do it! Special lunch? Unique drink? Just ask! They even provided coffee beans in my room so I could grind my own coffee. Those little touches make all the difference in the world.

"Blown away at Sandals"

It is rare that I’m moved enough to provide a written Review however our recent stay at the Sandals Royal plantation Resort prompted just that. The ‘Aha’ moment was present from the moment we entered the facility till the second we regrettably took our leave. The superlatives were far too many to mention so I’ll stick with the highlights. (as it’s hard to distinguish between highlights as the bar kept getting higher and higher). Beginning with the General Manager, Omar, then the Head of Customer Comfort, Marvin, our TWO Superstar Butlers, Marvin and Bebeato and countless wait staff, they all embodied Customer Service at an elite level. The service was easy and not forced and unrehearsed and contagious and effortless. The ‘Can do’ attitude was refreshing and special. Although you knew that you couldn’t have everything, you always got the impression they would die trying……………and sometimes the intent outweighs the outcome. We were thrilled with the intimate and quiet elegance, the attention to detail and the deliberate election of providing quality over quantity. The entire staff were exquisite and fostered a family atmosphere rather than that of employees. The thoughtfulness and friendliness was unmatched and makes it very easy to recommend this place to anyone who would ask. We were sad to have to leave but enjoy the notion of someday getting to return, We were both grateful and flabbergasted by the experience. and it made our twenty fifth Anniversary a most memorable occasion an we hope that we could be able to relive the feeling for any upcoming notable milestones. We recently took our 15th anniversary trip to Jamaica to visit Sandals Royal Plantation and then Sandals Dunns River. For reference, we are 43 and 41 years old, and have been visiting Sandals since 2010 for our honeymoon. We are currently Diamond Level guests and have been every year (sometimes mulitple) except for 2020 (covid). Royal Plantation: we stayed for 3 days. What an experience! We've seen the resort from Ochi on our 6 previous trips, but only ever got to go there for a dinner one night. This time for this occasion, we decided to give it a try. What an impressive small resort! There were so few people you felt like everyone was there FOR YOU! Our first night at dinner, 3 hours off the plane, Omar the GM walked to our table to greet us and called us by name. Even if he "cheated" and saw it on a book somewhere, it was extremely impressive and we havent ever received this type of personal greet other than being taken to our rooms or at VIP lunches/dinners. Omar had a great personality, as well as a strong work ethic. Its clear his staff feed off his energy, they were phenomenal; friendly and very personable. The people make this resort what it is. I see why guests return here over and over again. Quiet, relaxing, and personable. Exactly what we were looking for in our 3 days. Night life was very calm, so if you want to have fun after dark? NO PROBLEM! Take the bus over to OCHI! First night we did just that. Walked into the manor house looking for our favorite person SHADINE who booked our very first return trip! She wasnt there as we were really late so we walked towards the piano and bar area (we found her the next day, and she was amazing as ever!). An employee was walking towards us and both of us stopped and looked at each other like the batman/robin meme. We knew each other, just couldnt place it. Then we figured it out, he was Jason in entertainment. THE SAME JASON that made my 5 year old sons day at Beaches OCHI in October 24! He was great with the kids, and since Beaches has closed he transferred to Sandals. What a great surprise, we were excited to see and talk to him. Met up every night for all the entertainment and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Great guy, great work ethic, and a wonderful asset for Sandals. Food was phenomenal. There were only 3 dinner restaurants on property, but it worked great for our stay. We really enjoyed La Papillion for French cuisine. Of all our Sandals stays (20 total trips) this was the best creme brulee I had ever had. Shout out to the entire culinary team, they are a cut above the rest. The Jamaica night Buffet on our last night wasnt your average buffet. Lots of flat grills and custom cuisines were prepared right in front of you. Lets call it a gourmet buffet. Our butlers were Safiya and Orayne. Great for us, not overbearing and left us to ourselves unless we contacted them. Took care of us bringing food, decorating our room for our anniversary, and keeping our fridge and bar stocked. Two words, coconut lobster! Ask for it, its phenomenal. Rooms were perfect for our needs. Seems like they had converted the balcony into an in room area, which was great for adding space. Typical old school feel mahogany beds and furniture, but new paint brightened up the room. Large closet, usual amenities like fridge, coffee maker, etc. This is a vintage feel Sandals resort, and it fits the vibe of the property well. Room service was standard and a great add on as we ordered breakfast every day to arrive following our morning gym routine. West beach had activities every day, but we stayed on east beach the whole time. Quiet, easy going. Most we ever had with us was 5 other couples on the entire beach on one day. Most days we were the only ones until after 1PM. This beach is nicknamed "smokers beach" because smoking is allowed, but it was extremely rare and you rarely ever noticed. Easy tradeoff for our peace and quiet. 3 days was short, but perfect for Royal Plantation for us. As we were leaving to head to Sandals Dunns River, Omar personally bid us farewell. I made a joke to him, making sure he knew where the gym was on property. The guy had arms so big Im surprised the Jamaican government doesnt make him register them as weapons. Great stay, great experience. Id definitely do this resort again, likely as a split stay so I can enjoy 2 resorts in the same trip. I sincerely thank everyone we met during our stay and hope this review gets the mentioned team members the recognition they deserve.

"Royal plantation vacation"

Just came back from the royal plantation Jamaica this hotel was one of the best we have visited . Omar and all the staff were amazing we can’t single one out as they were all fantastic Would we go back most definitely. We would like to thank sandals for an amazing vacation And a massive thank you to all the staff at the royal plantation
