"Disappointing experience"

A sad and tired hotel. Carpets in the corridors were worn with rugs to cover the holes. Room was very clean, quiet with a good view of the courtyard but the furniture was shabby and worn. Only one available electrical socket, only one bedside lamp for a double bed seemed very strange. Worst experience was the buffet breakfast on the first morning, it looked like a swarm of locusts had descended on the bufffet, it was actually golfers. Understandable that they cleared a lot of food but the staff had not cleaned up the mess nor had anyone replenished the pastries, cold meats and cheeses. The hot buffet items looked like they had been sitting a while too. The next morning it was as it should have been but it was a hugely disappointing experience.

"Okay, rough around the edges."

stayed while on business in Perth. Very quite upon arrival & checked in quickly. I stayed in room 8 which on the way to, I notice extremely bad water damage to one of the halls. Unsure what had happened but doesn't look great. Got into my room which was quite spacious but rough around the edges. Moldy/cracked windows in main room with tiles in bathroom moldy & the roof was peeling having clearly suffered more water damaged. Had dinner in restaurant which was okay. Ordered burger without sauces & ended up with mayo & Salsa but was easily resolved by myself. Had brownie for dessert which was very dry & just not great. Had a okay sleep until around 6am when it seems the whole hotel woke up. Lots of creaking & banging from upstairs. breakfast was very good however. Overall, a decent stay.

"Great Set up for a Golf Trip!"

Great set up for a group Golf trip with 2 good courses across the road from the Hotel. The Hotel itself was ideal with a decent room and a good dinner and buffet breakfast. Also had a good wee bar attached to it. Staff service was excellent so overall we'll be back next year.

"No rooms at the inn"

Booked this hotel months in advance received an email the day before our arrival to check in when we arrived at the hotel we were informed our room wasn’t ready yet we could check in at 2.00 pm we were having Lunch at the hotel when a member of staff informed us that there was no room available for us and we were booked into a Travel Lodge miles away and we were told we were booked for a large double room, we ended up in a small twin room opposite the the main entrance my wife could hardly slip because she didn’t feel safe and the noise of the main door opening and closing all night. Considering we are both in our seventies and the fact we paid for Lunch,Dinner, drinks and a show at the hotel the way we were treated is shocking, I was given the contract details one of the directors I emailed him twice and left a message on his phone and he didn’t have the decency to reply, we were driven back and forward numerous times between hotels by members of staff who were all very pleasant but this should never have happened.

"Okay stay"

Hotel is in a great place. Plenty of parking restaurant was good and the food was nice and the service was good. Hotel condition. Could do a bit of improvement. Strange smell in the corridor next to my room as well as mouldy walls very outdated furniture and decor.

"Perfect place to stay when you go to a live music event."

Great place to stay when you go to a live music event at the hotel. There is a spectacular display of music memorabilia in the bar at the back. The hotel is an old sprawling building in need of a bit of an update and repair. However the rooms were clean and comfortable. All the young staff were very helpful and looked after us during our visit. There is a fabulous little brewery just across the road which serves great beer and gin.

"A nice place to stop"

We had enjoyed a ramble and a boat tour of Loch Leven and stopped here for a light lunch. The hotel itself was very inviting with several cosy conversation areas and lounges. The restaurant was comfortable and roomy. Although we all only had soup, it was tasty and served with warm rolls. Service was pleasant, but a bit slow. An oddity that I asked about was the lack of prices for many things on the menu. I have not yet reached the point in my life where price doesn't matter, but I understand why, with prices changing regularly, that it might be more cost effective for the restaurant to simply leave it blank rather than constantly amend or reprint the menus.

"a nightmare experience"

A nightmare of a hotel – avoid at all costs. If you enjoy the sight of mouldy walls and a lack of hygiene, this is the place for you. If you're in the market for a room without hot water and a staff that disregards your complaints, you've hit the jackpot. Our experience at this hotel was marred from the moment we arrived. The long hallway leading to our room was a sight to behold, with damp walls, peeling paint, and visible mould growth, especially near my children's room. The lack of hot water in the shower was the first of many disappointments we encountered. Throughout the day, we followed up several times. First, we were told maintenance had been informed. Later, we were reassured it would be fixed by the evening. But when we returned, nothing had changed. By the third time we complained, we were fed up and told the receptionist that we couldn't stay under these conditions. Her response? A shrug and a reminder that we would still be charged for all four nights we had booked. Our experience with Booking.com was equally disappointing. Their only advice was to leave a review to prevent others from being misled like us. The only 'solution' they offered was a discount on a future stay, which we have no intention of using. In summary, if you're looking to feel deceived, mistreated, and have an overall negative experience, this is the hotel for you. We certainly won't be returning.

"The rooms are genuinely terrible, I can't stress this enough"

TV worked, which was probably the highlight. First time I stayed here, it was bad — and somehow the second time was even worse. I spend around 16 nights a month in hotels, and for what I paid, this is easily the worst value I’ve come across. The hotel’s in a rough state. Rooms feel like an old care home that was quickly painted over and reopened. Everything just feels tired and a bit grim. The only real positive is the staff — they’re friendly and doing their best, which is more than I can say for the place itself. I’ve never left a negative review before, but this feels like a public service. If you’ve got the choice, honestly, sleep in your car.
