Mad Monkey Hostel Phnom Penh

We booked a double room. It was small but comfortable. Up 3 flights of stairs. Excellent spot for excursions and onward travel. Staff very clued up. Large bar area with night entertainment.

Hmmm. We booked a private room thinking we would get a decent night's sleep. Wrong. On two nights we were woken by other guests arriving back in the early hours and talking and calling friends in the large communal area on the floor. There is a settee placed there to facilitate this and the addled perpetrators are oblivious to any pleas to be quiet! Ironically, you would likely get a better sleep in the dorms, where behaviour is more likely to be policed. Maybe this is just a "party central" hostel. Certainly that is the vibe their Emails promote.

I joined the S21 and Killing Fields tour today. Our tour guide, Sola, was very helpful and informative. She gave us enough time to explore and arranged the transportation perfectly. She answered all our questions with a big smile. It was a great experience overall. The staff also encouraged us to join other activities to discover local cuisine and better understand the culture.

Overall, the experience was very good. There was nothing specific I didn’t like, and everything was well organized and met my expectations.

Excelente hostel si deseas conocer gente e incluso puedes conseguir tener privacidad si asi deseas. Las camas en habitaciones compartidas tienen cortinas y son amplias. Todo aseado diariamente. Aire acondicionado disponible. Salas comunes y desayuno disponible por buen precio. Muy bien ubicado.

Ruido elevado, pero a las 11:30 pm se terminaba
