The Holiday Chalet

Easy check-in, beautiful room. Comfortable bed. Only negative was. The lack of parking and litter around the property.

We LOVED the vibe! Everything worked so well, the tile and wallpaper and decor was beautiful. We loved the look. The bed was comfortable, shower and air conditioner worked great.

The location was in a rough part of town, and there were men smoking on the front steps when we arrived.

Lots of road work was going on in the area and we couldn’t even get to it from the main road. And lot of homeless people were right outside the room I reserved yelling and carrying on.

I don't normally review but feel I need to warn people not to stay here. My daughter and I were on the 3rd floor facing Colfax. We did not feel safe due to all the homeless out front and night time activity. The pictures on the website are not accurate. It is a rundown nightmare. Outside is totally covered in ivy and the windows as well making it dark in the rooms. The carpet is dirty and ripped. Upon arrival in our room, the first thing I noticed was the dirty bathroom. It had dark long hair all over the floor, a used toothbrush and razor in the shower. The carpet had not been vacuumed, the table was broken and two of the lights did not have lightbulbs. The coffee maker had old coffee in it with mold growing and the dishes in the cupboard were not clean. I have never been in such a dirty dark place. Way over priced. I would pay another 100 a night to stay downtown.

There was nothing to like. I'm appalled that a hotel in this condition is featured on booking.com. it was completely unacceptable. The exterior of the hotel is run down, covered with garbage and overgrown. There was no staff, we had to self check in to the building by using a keypad on the front door, so there was no one to address any concerns. The road in front of the hotel was blocked off and there were about 10 homeless drug addicts hanging out in front drinking beer and additional people passed out at the sides of the hotel. Everything smelled like urine. The coffee pot had a used moldy filter in it. There was a dirty rag stuffed in a crack next to the barely functioning, filthy air conditioning unit. The toilet would not stop running. The lighting in the room was awful.. The bathtub wouldn't drain and while showering in the tub, I noticed there was shit on the shower curtain. We stayed the first night in the room but only because we were too exhausted after traveling all day to try and find somewhere else.

Everything.

Crack addicts were hanging outside the property on a daily basis. Need I say more?

first floor room looks nice,bigger, nice shower room, big bed, quiet AC,but I only got 2 nights to stay there.

so noisy AC in upper level room. I am light sleeper, and I could not sleep almost whole night. second day I had to go to study in CCMU nearby. so the Contact person Robert promised me to move me to the first floor for 2 nights and refund me the rest. So I stayed total 3 nights and moved out to days Inn. till today, I did not get refunding.
