Taman Harum Cottages

Very nice hotel and the rooms were very authentic in design, we were very happy with the place. Only negative was the distance to Ubud, the reason we chose this place was it's close proximity to the town centre,which I am sure it said was only 5 or 10 mins walk! Alas this was not the case but there was the free shuttle service to get you back and fore. Pool was nice, and the outdoor bathroom was pretty cool. I enjoyed my midnite bath whilst the rain poured down. Would recommend no problem to others.

Glorious construction music at the hotel, lulling us from a sound sleep and encouraging us to venture out... Nice setting, great looking hotel and walkway; unfortunately the wifi is low quality and poor reception, the 'open bathroom' didn't have a wall high enough to give my wife comfort (I kinda liked it...), but they were nice enough to move us to a second story room - however the A/C was not very strong, but they were nice enough to provide us with another fan. Hot water cut off during a shower and they said would be a few minutes as they were changing water sources (so no big deal). Quite far from town, but free shuttle and willing to take us back and forth nicely. Breakfast was ok, but they were willing to cook my eggs longer so that was nice.

Went there to check in only to find out the hotel is at the edge of Ubud district, pretty far from the center. Hotel wise, I love the environment, quiet, chilling and so retro. Reminds me of my grandma's house.

Some of the best service I have experienced in Bali. The hotel staff were treating the guests as family members, so in stead of just staying there one night as originally planned, we ended up staying for three great days. The hotel is located a bit outside Ubud but the free shuttle service makes up for that. We never waited more than 15 minutes for the bus to pick us up and bring us to where ever we wished. Great pool area too. I can indeed reccommend the Taman Harum Cottages

Its location was great, it was far enough away from Ubud that it was quiet, but still close enough. The hotel provided free shuttle service to Ubud as well, which was great. It's located in Mas Village, which is the center of woodcarving in Ubud. The hotel itself was very nice, the restaurant was very affordable, as was the tours the hotel offered. And the hotel offered many great activities, from tours of the island, to cooking classes, massages, wood carving, and scenic walks through rice fields. I was in a Standard room. The room itself was clean, but had the feeling of a 3.5 star hotel (which it is). There was chipped paint on the walls, not much furniture, and only local channels on the TV. There were a lot of families with children staying there, so perhaps we just got a bit unlucky with the room, or maybe the other rooms are much nicer. They appeared to be from the outside at least. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful. The pool was clean and was always in use by kids during the day, the restaurant was nice, the food was very good, and the staff was very friendly. And free wi-fi! It was very nice.

I stayed there for 4 nights. Hotel provide free transportation to Ubud town. Staff there are very friendly. The restaurant provide a good food for a reasonable price. However, the room was not soo clean and the bathroom is not totally closed to outside and it is at the first floor and the bad in the second, so my wife was afraid to go to bathroom at night alone. But the overall is good taken apart the bathroom.

The garden of the complex was gorgeous, however so much greenery resulted in my room being incredibly damp and smelly. The necessary maintenance on the hotel has not been kept up - and it looked quite tired and shabby in places. The power outlets in my room sparked when I plugged things in, which left me too uneasy to use them. However the room and all areas of the hotel were clean. The outdoor bathroom was a nice touch, but unfortunately meant the bath was shared with ants/centipedes/frogs! The staff were friendly, although very pushy to book you in for one of the tours offered by the hotel (! did a volcano tour through the hotel and was extremely disappointed). The shuttle service into Ubud town was available whenever I asked, and the vehicle was new and comfortable. I tried the food in the restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner - and found each meal awful. The spa facilities were not a patch on others offered at nearby hotels. I would not stay at this hotel again. Although it was cheap, I think that you could pay a little more elsewhere and get a lot more for your money.

A great place to relax....Not in a town, but the shuttle service to Ubud is efficient. Nice rooms, mine has a little dates and dark...Very friendly staff, I liked them all.

I chose this hotel because of its special offers for activities in Bali--they were wonderful. I took the early morning rice paddy walk and the cooking class. Both were amazing--such a nice way to feel the atmosphere of the country. The hotel staff was so courteous and pleasant, always willing to answer my questions and help me personalize activities. The restaurant was delicious. The pool was great. I also enjoyed a spa treatment. My neighbors were also happy with the hotel. A hotel shuttle was provided to get to Ubud, and it was fine when I wanted to go to a local evening dance. I chose this hotel to be away from the main area and it was great for me.
