The Carlton Hotel, Atascadero, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

No winery view here, more like stepping back in time, nice vintage throwback hotel with lots of character. In all fairness they are in middle of a remodel that no one told us about.. . But lots to do walking distance. remodel not expected to be done until sometime in December. I would like to see it when completed. Biggest complaint was we reserved a room for 4 people, and you only had 1 chair in room. Had to sit on beds. Oh yeah any chance you can move that fire station, they had a busy Friday night.

Lovely hotel with really neat architecture right downtown in Atascadero. Really comfy beds. Excellent wall finishings and fixtures. There's some in-progress construction on the ground level that won't impact your stay but should make the area even better in the near future. We really enjoyed our stay and loved walking to dinner and breakfast nearby. Shout-out to Sylvester's and Huckleberry's!

Oddly cheap flooring in the room, and the carpet in the shared hallways could use a refresh.

The staff was very friendly. Rooms are beautiful and newly remodeled. They are still in the process of remodeling but it didn’t affect our stay.

Great Historical hotel loaded with unique charm and character. Rooms are big, clean and well cared for.

Rooms were clean, updating, so it depends on what room you are placed in as to how nice it is. I had multiple good stays until my most recent stay, September 30-October 3rd, when I was bitten by bedbugs on my lower extremities and buttocks. At first I thought it was spiders, but it was your typically three bite pattern.
