good front desk service;. allowed us into our room early with no extra charge; gave us a breakfast plus a lunch next day when only one was called for. Hotel and restaurant gives the feeling of old opulence. Well worth the stay.

Located in Historic Heart which is where most of the sights in St. Petersburg are so you can walk EVERYWHERE. Free drinking water available on each floor so you can refill your bottle and save money. Friendly and helpful staff who were able to recommend restaurants and supermarkets. Breakfast is included and there is a good offering each morning to fill your stomachs. Highly recommended.

The rooms are small and included breakfast is adequate but the real advantage of this hotel is its location and in a large city like Saint Petersbutg, we were never more than 10minutes walk to the attractions, shops, restaurants and bars

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. I could not have asked for more. The price was traveler's friendly, the hotel superbly located, the reception's staff courteous and professionnal, and a very good breakfast was included. All in all, a great value.

Location of the hotel was great, very near to Nevsky Prospekt and the most important sightseeings. One minus was that it was not that close to a metro station if you needed to go somewhere a bit farther. Rooms were simple but very clean and breakfast was nice. No minibar in the room.

I found the hotel perfectly acceptable in terms of comfort and service for it's very reasonable price - it is not in the luxury hotel category so you don't expect lots of extras. The location was perfect for getting to all the main museums and atractions. I would certainly come back to the Nevsky Grand.

This is a well situated hotel about 15 mins walking distance from the Hermitage . They serve a plentiful buffet style breakfast and the rooms are comfortable and well heated. The price of the room is very reasonable. However, there is one massive problem with this hotel which means I would not even recommend it to my worst enemy. The shower cubicle is the work of the devil. It is a plastic contraption from the sixties or seventies and should have gone along with the iron curtain. It has lots of bells and whistles, none of which work, and yet does not even provide a reasonable flow of water at an even temperature.To enter the cubicle there is a large step up which is difficult to do on entry and positively dangerous to do when stepping out of the shower. The cubicle is also so narrow that it is impossible to turn round and extremely difficult to soap one's back. I was so frustrated with it that on my last day I did not bother with an attempt at a shower. I apologise to anyone on the flight home for sharing a cabin with smelly me. If the hotel could rip out these death-traps and replace with a larger modern simple shower cubicle, then I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a budget stay, but until then I warn you not to darken its door steps.

The location of the Nevsky Hotel Grand is fabulous! You are right in the middle of St Petersburg.....walking distance to the Hermitage, the Winter Palace, The Palace of the Spilled Blood, Navonsky Sabor, St Isaacs....etc. The staff at the hotel were friendly and accomodating. The rooms were small, but clean and comfortable. There is a complete (Russian) breakfast buffet which is included in the rate. They will arrange for airport transport if requested (for a per person charge). Make sure to try the tiny place across the street that sells coffee and donuts (more like our fried dough in a donut shape) at USSR prices.

It was a good value but the walls were too thin. We could hear the neighbours from all sides. The room was a little small.
