"Small room but good value for money & good service"

8.0

The location of the hotel is fantastic; just a few seconds walk off Nevsky Prospect and about a 10 minute walk away from the Winter Palace and Cathedral of the Spilled Blood. Staff at reception were very friendly. Unfortunately we were given a room on the 7th floor which was very cold, very small and which had a sloping ceiling so you couldn't stand up. We asked to change and were moved to a room on the 5th floor. It was still small, but a lot better. A heater was provided immediately when we mentioned the room was cold. There was also a free safe in the room. Breakfast was included and there was a good choice of food. Aside from being a bit cramped and a bit outdated, I couldn't fault the hotel. I probably wouldn't stay there again for a romantic break, but definitely a good choice for a traveller on a small budget!

"Comfortable hotel in a great location!"

10.0

This hotel is within walking distance of most of the sights we planned to see in St Petersburg. The breakfasts are excellent and got us off on a great start for the day. The registration desk staff are very friendly & there was always someone there that spoke English.

"Breakfast area full and the only one made to wait"

2.0

One morning, a sign was placed at the entry to the breakfast area stating that it was full and asking guests to wait. When a few people came out, I asked whether I could enter since I am alone. I was told brusquely to wait. However, others were allowed in. As a result, I, of east Asian origin, was made to wait alone outside while others of different ethnicity could simply ignore the sign and walk in. When an Asian-looking service staff finally let me in, I saw that there were several empty spaces and I could have been let in when I asked. I am surprised that this can happen in a hotel located in the tourist zone of a cosmopolitan city.

"St. Petersburg"

8.0

Hotel was nice and staff fairly friendly. Room small, but clean. Location was excellent, couldn't ask for much better. One hiccup was when our lost luggage arrived and they kept telling us they didn't have it. We went two days without changes or personal items.

"great location"

6.0

The best part of this hotel was it's proximity to the major sites in St. Petersburg. Overall the hotel was ok, a bit on the worn side, nothing to say about the decor which looked dated. The sheets seems too short for the bed with both ends of the mattress sticking out from the bottom sheet which I thought was odd. The front desk team was really great though with helping with directions etc. All said it was a good budget hotel to stay for a few nights while seeing the tourist sites in the city.

"Location, Location, Location"

8.0

The standard rooms in this hotel are small and stuffy. However, there are several "luxury" rooms which are spacious and have air conditioners. We upgraded to one, at only $30 more per night, after our weekend nights in a standard room and were very satisfied. The hotel works with a tour company to arrange day tours to major spots like Peterhof at reasonable prices. The tour company provides guide, driver and car (no food or water) for 5-hour tours to the major suburban palaces. Travel was comfortable, safe, and the guides were well informed. The neighborhood is fabulous--restaurants (Try the Biblioteka on the corner of Nevskii Prospect), good souvenir shops, top-of-the-line department store, grocery store, upscale porcelain shops, and all within easy walking distance of the Hermitage and Neva River.

"very convenient location"

8.0

Hotel is located in very convenient spot, close to all amenities .Lots of restaurants, shops around the hotel. Breakfast was good ,however should offer more products such as yogurt, cottage cheese, fresh fruits to chose from. People from reception are nice, knowledgeable and are willing to help. The rooms are clean, only down side is that the bathroom is so small, the shower cabin is so tinny that you can not turn inside. Maybe different rooms have bigger bathroom. Our room was standard. Isolation between the rooms is very poor, you can hear each other talking .
