Sanbona Wildlife Reserve

We are so thrilled that we chose Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. We were initially a bit daunted by the drive to the reserve from Cape Town, as we are used to driving on the other side of the road, but it was a pretty straight forward drive and had stunning views of the mountains. Our short stay at Sanbona was about as perfect as it gets. Thank you to the staff who made our trip so memorable! They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our honeymoon.

Fantastic experience, the Tilney Lodge is a high end luxury resort and will not disappoint. The safari twice daily drives are just mind blowing, we saw all the animals we went to see, our ranger Josh was amazing and so knowledgeable and entertaining, just the best.

I cannot recommend the Dwyka Tented Lodges enough. I have had the fortune of traveling to many countries, and this might be one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. The staff was wonderful, attentive, and friendly. The tented lodges were phenomenal, and such a unique experience. The game drives surpassed all of my expectations. We saw so many animals. If you have the opportunity to have Jordan as your guide, I would highly recommend it. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Sanbona offers an excellent experience for anyone who is looking to combine a safari excursion with a hotel stay. We stayed at the Dwyka Tents and I must say the rooms are beautiful. Let’s talk fiod — these folks feed you and feed you well! The food is well prepared and beautifully appointed and very tasty. The game drives are fantastic. Most definitely book a minimum 2 day stay. It is well worth it. I guarantee you will leave Sanbona refreshed and exhilarated!

Everything was top notch...game reserve is large so you do a lot of driving .... but very exciting when you get near the animals.

Hotel and reserve are lovely, although the drought is taking its toll on the scenery. Food quality could be better for the price.

My wife and I traveled from USA. From the moment we arrived we had our jaws to the ground. The views were spectacular, our room in Tillney was incredible. We've traveled quite a bit, stayed at many 5 star hotels, this was one nothing sort of terrific. The staff is wonderful, our Ranger (Josh) was knowledgable and did a great job finding the animals. Our experience was something we will never forget.

We stayed at sanbona for three nights in January and had a great time. Despite the drought and subsequent loss of animals we saw quite a lot on our morning and afternoon game drives. Our guide, Gerrard, was very knowledgable and got us very close to Elephants, Rhino, Cheetah and White lions, which were amazing. We also saw other animals such as hyenas and black backed jackals. We stayed at the Dwyka tented lodge and the rooms were large, nice and well equipped. The outdoor shower and jacuzzi on the terrace was great too! Overall we had an excellent stay and would highly recommend it to others.

Amazing. The level of detail and service was outstanding. The knowledge of the guide and how much we learnt along the way was unforgettable. Stayed in the Dwyka tented lodges and would recommend these as pure luxury
