Only problem was bedbugs in one of the beds in our room. My wife is covered in bites. I found and killed 2 of the critters, but too late. Neel at the desk/breakfast is a gem with a memorable smile

altes, renovierungsbedürftiges Hotel sehr laut an der straße. vorhänge liessen sich nicht schliessen, = hell Fenster nicht öffnen =warm schlechte Luft. Betten wurden nicht gemacht. eher ein ** Hotel als ein*** Hotel. Das Beste war noch das Frühstück. Ich war 4 Nächte da, 2 zuviel.

Fijne en ontzettend gezellige ontvangst en service. Mooi antiek pand in hartje Gent. Prachtige grote kamer. Hulp bij informatie over Gent centrum gekregen. Heerlijk ontbijt.

The staff wasn't friendly or helpful, and they were mostly absent. We had to call every time we were at the reception, both to check in and check out and also when we had issues. The owners live in the same building and they seem to be always at their place rather than working. The rooms are very basic and, while being recently repainted, feel very outdated. There was only one electrical socket per room to charge our devices; the bedside lamp was broken, doors and windows had terrible locks and were wiggly. Most importantly, the place felt unsafe. The front door is always open so that guests could come in without bothering the staff, and the staff is never at the reception, as I mentioned before. After checking out we left our bags at a storage room (which was just a laundry room) and when we came back, nobody was around and we couldn't wait for a long time, so we tried to open the door to the storage room - and it wasn't locked. Anything could happen to our bags! Avoid this place.
