The G Hotel and Spa

Nice hotel, large room with gorgeous bathroom! However, they were renovating rooms so could hear banging and hallway smelled like paint and had plastic on carpets for workers. Hallway was way too dark and not welcoming. Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night! Staff was friendly and lounges and restaurant was nice. A 20 min walk to city centre.

Not a very nice area. Lobby reeked of cologne and is quite dark.

The air conditioning didn't work the first night so the room was too hot and didn't sleep well. They did bring fans and have it fixed the next day. Staff was good. Hotel was being worked on so there was some noise. Alright place... a little dated carpet was worn, bathroom floor had spots on it... not dirty just like stained. Appears it is being updated.

Funky room

HUGE room! VERY comfortable! Ample free parking. Be prepared for a full 25 minute walk or 10 minute drive to the center of Galway for shopping, dining and sight seeing.

This hotel was visually stunning and the hotel staff was very nice. The hotel is very close to downtown Galway. Breakfast was delicious, the room was very comfortable and well appointed. We would come back here in a heartbeat and will recommend to our friends.

The G Hotel and Spa combines modern decor with great service. The colors are bold and adventurous: hot pink, purple, orange, silver. We highly recommend guests pay the fee for use of the Spa's Thermal Suite, which is a slice of relaxation heaven with a large hot tub, powerful water jets, two kinds of saunas, a rainfall shower, heated chaise lounges, and an ice bath. The food was great! However, it was difficult to reach the front desk with questions either by phone or in person. When I asked a staffer about the thermal suite, he did not know and told me to call the spa. I did not get an answer, so we went by the spa instead (and were able to book a time). The valet placed water bottles in our car without us asking. The hotel location is somewhat removed from the Galway action but is easily accessible to major roads should you wish to explore the area. It was about a 25-30 minute walk from the hotel to the Latin Quarter. If you go (and you should!), be sure to visit the Quay's Bar and Restaurant for awesome Irish music! I highly recommend Afternoon Tea in one of the lounges. They did a great job accommodating my gluten-free requirements. However, when they brought out my food and the waiter told me about everything on my plate, he and I both realized that the kitchen staff had accidentally placed a gluten-containing plate on my tea server. If I had not been paying attention, that could have been disastrous. So, if you have to be gluten-free, be on your toes.

It was not disclosed upfront that gym was under construction and we were told to pay for a gym in the area. View looked directly into a shopping center with trash and delivery trucks directly outside window. A complaint to the manager was answered 2 weeks after we left. The rest of the staff were friendly and professional .

We greatly appreciated the complimentary upgrade! Our suite was beautiful and the view amazing! Victor (concierge) and Irene (waiter on 2 occasions) were so helpful and made us feel at home and cared for. Confusion with Espa reservations and with lunch service before we departed left me feeling that exceptional service is individualized, rather than organization wide. Nevertheless, all staff were polite and helpful. The facility is quite well done and well maintained. Although it’s a bit distant from the City Center, staff were prompt in calling for car service!
