Elk Cove Inn & Spa

The service was excellent and very friendly. The room was a little rough, door was difficult to open, close and lock, not much room to move around, but fine for a single night's stay. The room was very clean and included wine and goodies. Breakfast was nice, sign of the times, in the room because of Covid. And the spa (massage) was also closed. Be prepared for a curvy drive to Mendincino.

Just a unique property overall. Great, quiet beach, nice views, lovely amenities in room. Charger available for EV cars, but it's not fast. Still, a nice perk.

Absolutely beautiful location, very quiet and serene. The grounds are well-kept and overall the building and rooms are in good shape. We arrived at the property at around 8PM and were asked if we wanted dinner. We had a late lunch so we weren't starving but thought it would be nice to eat since it was getting a little late. We were shown to our seats and immediately given a little appetizer, which we thought was a nice gesture. Within in just a few minutes before I was even finished with this appetizer, the staff came to take it away. It was then the server let us know this was a Prix Fixe meal and asked what entree we wanted. Two more appetizers came one after the other. We couldn't have been there for more that 10 minutes by this point, I couldn't understand why this was such a rushed meal...never experienced anything like this, it was very off putting. Something must have been going on where they were in a hurry. The entree was out within 20 minutes of sitting down. Everything was so rushed and it was a shame because we came to this property to slow down and relax. Then got a bill for $49 ea. Not overpriced since the food was good, but it would have been nice to a) be told this was a Prix Fixe meal and b) the price before sitting down. Was a very strange dining experience.

This is the second we stay at this Inn and i can't thank enough Josh and Amy ( the inn keepers ) for their hospitality and friendliness. Not only this inn location is gorgeous, overseeing the pacific ocean, but the amenities, the generous social with free drinks, the small size and coziness of the main hall makes it for an unforgettable experience - we will be back again soon !

Our room had spectacular views (Surfsong cabin). It was a piece of heaven on earth! Clean and spacious room and bathroom, super comfy bed, wide window seat to just sit and enjoy the picture perfect view. Felt like we were in the middle of a postcard.

Amy and Joshua, the inkeepers were incredible hosts - they were very helpful in getting us settled down and orienting us quickly around the property. will come back for sure
