San Anselmo Inn

Great little inn tucked away in downtown San Anselmo

Room was adequate. It was clean, but not particularly roomy for two people, i.e., not much room for luggage. Bathroom was extremely small. It was very quiet and the bed comfortable.

Owners runs their Inn with respect and courtesy. They always do their best to make you feel welcomed and comfortable.

A lovely old hotel. I just wish they would upgrade their sheets. They’re a little scratchy.

It's a rustic building in the centre of San Anselmo. There are no restaurant facilities but there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There's no reception desk and you will find your room key left in an envelope on a table and you have to work things out for yourself. If you want all of the facilities of a larger hotel like a reception desk, bar, gym, restaurant, elevators etc. this is not for you. But there is a decent buffet breakfast provided. The rooms are small and the shower room was tiny but OK for me as I was travelling on my own. It was all clean when I got there but housekeeping didn't visit at all in the 4 nights I stayed. Hotels in Marin are expensive and this place is well priced compared with the others in the area and fine if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower before spending the day exploring.

We had a great time at the San Anselmo Inn. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the location was ideal for what we had to do in the neighborhood. I would suggest to anybody who likes a quaint place without all the other frills and whistles this is the place. I would also recommend to my family or friends.
