San Anselmo Inn

Reasonable rate for the area. Nice continental breakfast provided.

Anniversary trip and San Anselmo was our home base to get to Point Reyes, Muir Woods, SF & Sausalito/Tiberon. Easy check-in, quiet and comfortable room, nice patio to relax with a bottle of wine. Cute town, very family and dog friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Quaint little hotel, nice, but we never saw anyone, we picked up our key from a table and left the key in the room. The bed wasn't super comfortable, too firm and felt every movement, but overall it was fine. Quiet and restful.

Quaint boutique hotel in the middle of town. Positives were we could walk to dinner easily and it was contactless check in/out. Negatives were the skinny hallways with only one exit, decent breakfast, but little flexibility on check out.

San Anselmo is a wonderful place to visit with beautiful surroundings, shops and restaurants. It’s hard to believe huge cities are just over the small mountain. The Inn is the only place to stay right in town. The included breakfast was wonderful with fresh sweet strawberries every morning, and pastries. Check in was a breeze. It was so quiet at night that I thought we were the only guests in the whole place. No trafic noise whatsoever. That being said, my room was a bit shabby. Missing tile in the shower, poor paint job in the bathroom. The bed was OK but the pillows need a total re-do or bring your own. With a little help this place could be outstanding. The manager seems to really care about your experience. We also had the accessible room, I’m not sure why. If booking I would highly recommend the top floor with windows to the main street. I almost asked to see one for a future visit. Yes, I would stay here again, but definitely ask for a different room and hope the bedding is better.

Still adheres to pandemic self-check-in protocol, so I saw not a soul representing the hotel the 2 days I stayed. The window covering in the room did not entirely cover the window. Walls are paper thin. I stayed here a few years before the pandemic and it's the same -- but worse bc there's no breakfast buffet in the downstairs cafe/patio setting and housekeeping is only provided for an extra fee. The location - downtown San Anselmo - however, is excellent.

This was nothing fancy. Instead it was charming and quaint. The bed was super comfortable. Because it was March the room could have been chilly but we were provided a space heater to warm us up. Loved this Inn.

The San Anselmo Inn is very convenient to a friend's residence several blocks away. I was gone from the Inn most of the days I was visiting, returning early evening. Very pleasant and safe to re-enter my room for the evening. Benedict, the manager/owner(?) of the Inn was always very welcoming and accommodating. I was not at the Inn for the days that its' restaurant is open but heard very positive comments in the community about the quality of the food and service.
