Could overhear chatter from the kitchen during breakfast and staff distracted. My hot breakfast order was forgotten. I went to the kitchen and told ticket was put up but not done. So left.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was also good that breakfast was included with no extra charge and that there were staff there to serve tea, coffee, a cooked breakfast (if desired) and this gave things a likeable personal touch. Maybe a continental breakfast would have been a nice extra option because there were quite a few international travellers there. The location is excellent, situated in one of the liveliest parts of Bristol with lots of pubs, restaurants and coffee bars nearby. It's also just about a mile from Bristol City Centre, so a brisk walk or short bus ride away.

Our room was quite small and not very well ventilated and because it's an old building it had sash windows which seemed to be sealed and, anyway, it would probably have been dangerous to open them. There was an electric fan but it was a bit large and the position of the sockets made it difficult to use. Air conditioning could have solved the problem.

It is a budget hotel alright, but you feel that there is quite some heart put into it. Staff is super nice and helpful. Sadly single glass windows are the standard in Bristol residential houses, so yeah if u can get a room to the back.

The only breakfast I booked had no warm components due to staff illness, that was disappointing of course.

Stayed one night to see some friends in Bristol, super cheap but the room was great. Free oranges apples and coffee in the room with a comfy bed and friendly staff. Will be back! :)

The staff here are incredible—knowledgeable, empathetic, and truly professional. They are the main reason I’d book another stay.

The reception people were pleasant and friendly

The beds were uncomfortable and the duvet was thin and small which made for a bad night as it was cold with nothing in the the room to keep warm. There were cob webs on nearly every wall. You could hear everyone else in hotel as floors and stairs creaked and were thin.
