Excellence Riviera Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive

Everything in this resort is Top Notch especially the cleanliness and friendlyness of the staff. We loved the lazy river pool where we spent more time than we would have had if the Sargassum on the beach hadn't spoiled our walks along the beach and access to the ocean. This has nothing to do with the resort because all the beaches along the Mayan Riviera suffer from it.

Service was top notch! Amabli not sure on spelling her name but she is at Celio bar, was fantastic! Pool at club was warm and perfect!

Some days we did lots of activities- pool volleyball, sand volleyball, pickleball, silent disco, etc. and had a blast! Other days we sat on the beach and read, or floated in the Lazy River. Plenty of opportunities to relax and play. Loved eating the steak quesadillas poolside. The Spa is pricy but the massage is one of the best I’ve ever had! All the staff were very accommodating and made the experience enjoyable. We would not hesitate to come back!

Excellence Riviera Cancun has truly become our home away from home. For our family of six, this has been our yearly — and often bi-yearly — getaway for many years. Some in our group were celebrating their 19th visit, others their 10th. We’ve tried other resorts within the Excellence brand, but we always find ourselves coming back to ERC because of one thing above all else: the people. The staff feels like an extension of our family, and walking onto this property feels like coming home. This visit was a 10-day stay, and we were celebrating two birthdays. We also brought new friends with us and reunited with others we’ve met over the years at ERC — because that’s what happens here… strangers become friends, and friends become family. From the moment we arrived, Jose and Ricardo from the bell staff welcomed us “home” with hugs. They are our favorite faces to see when we arrive — and the hardest ones to say goodbye to when we leave. But knowing we’ll see them again makes it easier. Dining Highlights We started at The Grill on our first night, and the food was much better than in past visits. Several in our group of eight were already planning a return before we even left the table. My husband’s birthday dinner at Agave was outstanding. Edgar was hilarious and engaging, making the evening so fun. Isaac handled our large group of ten effortlessly. The food was the best we’ve ever had there. Chef David even came out to introduce himself and made a special salsa for those of us who love extra spice — it was fabulous! The birthday cake was also delicious. Magna on night three did not disappoint. Jose was attentive and seamless with our party of eight. The steak was especially memorable. Spice remains our favorite, and we visited three times this trip. Rodolfo, the manager, runs it like it’s his own personal restaurant. His pride shows in every detail. We did the hibachi one night, and Benjamin (our chef at the grill) was as entertaining and accommodating as ever. He has cooked for us several times over the years and never disappoints. Two couples in our group stayed in Imperial Suites, which allowed us to enjoy the Wine Room twice. They graciously accommodated our group of ten both evenings. Luis was our server both times — what a delight! His smile and energy light up the room, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. One evening they ran out of the dessert special (pistachio crème brûlée), and while we were happy with regular dessert, Luis surprised us by having the chef prepare more of the special just for our table. It was stunning and absolutely delicious. A special shoutout as well to Fatima, our assistant server — so attentive and gracious. Breakfast at The Kitchen Table is always a favorite, especially seeing our sweet omelet chef Mateo. Sarahi stood out as especially attentive and friendly. On one morning we barely saw our server, which is unusual for that venue, but overall breakfast was enjoyable. At Lobster House for breakfast, Christian and Edwin provided excellent service. Wendy at the hostess stand was incredible — she remembered our names, room numbers, and seated us at our favorite table each time. That kind of personal touch makes such a difference. Entertainment & Pool Experience Entertainment was top notch as always. We LOVE the Legends show! The Michael Jackson performer we saw on our second visit to the show was phenomenal. And of course, Claudia is always a highlight — we just wish we had seen her more than once. Erica, servicing the entertainment area, did a fantastic job as well. Poolside service continues to impress us. Raul made sure our towels were ready daily. The entire pool concierge team works seamlessly together and truly pampers guests. On my birthday, so many staff members joined our poolside celebration — it meant so much. Moises and Amable continue to amaze us with their hustle and positive attitudes. Exceptional Leadership A special thank you to David Sarmiento, Assistant Front Office Manager, who ensured our family’s stay was smooth and enjoyable. He was responsive, attentive, and proactive. And the MVP of this visit from our family goes to Fernando from Food & Beverage. Every evening he personally greeted our family at the entrance of whichever restaurant we were dining in to make sure everything was ready for us. That level of personal attention is something truly special. Improvements Noticed In past reviews, we have always emphasized the incredible staff while gently noting that the property itself was beginning to show its age. While that still holds true in some areas, we absolutely want to acknowledge the improvements we’ve noticed. Since Andrea arrived as the new General Manager, we’ve seen visible enhancements, particularly to the exterior buildings. The landscaping looked the best we’ve ever seen it — Eluterio and his team have done an amazing job keeping the grounds beautiful and pristine. ERC continues to be the place where our family gathers, celebrates milestones, and creates lifelong memories. We are already looking forward to our next visit — because leaving is always hard, but returning feels like coming home.

We had the most amazing trip! It’s truly paradise! We went for my lovers birthday and Valentine’s Day! They did not disappoint! We will return.

We highly recommended staying at Excellence Riviera Cancun if you haven't tried it yet. You will be treated like royalty. A special thanks to Josias at the Club check in who recognized our Diamond Club Member status and upgraded our room...what a great way to start vacation. From there the service continued to be excellent at the Club pool with Moses and Amiable. The Bar Tenders and Servers at all the restaurants were very attentive and hard working. We especially enjoyed our meals at Agave, Chez, the Lobster House and Kitchen Table. We can't say thank you enough. See you all again soon!

We just returned from our eighth stay at the Excellence Riviera Maya Cacun. Or as we like to call it, our home away from home! The staff is wonderful, and they always treat us like family. We have the means, fortunately to travel just about anywhere we would like. However after our first stay, we knew that we would like to return again and again... The resort is so warm and inviting.In addition everyone is so friendly. There are thirteen different restaurants to choose from. Not to mention restaurants on the beach, food delivery to your cabana, twenty four hour room service, and a food truck! This is an all inclusive hotel, where the food is plentiful and the cocktails flow from every area of the resort. I am attaching pictures to this post, however, there are some staff members that I did not get a picture of but they deserve to be well recognized. Starting with MATEO- BEST Omelet maker at the plentiful, and mouth watering morning breakfast. HUGO- BARTENDER @ the swim up bar. A BIG THANK YOU! You made our Valentines/ Anniversary day so special. When you visit, be sure to ask for a shot or two or more!! He made the tastiest of concoctions. 😃 From the time we landed at the airport, we were greeted by our private driver from Seasons tours ( compliments of the Excellence) and safely escorted to the hotel. This hotel takes your safety with the utmost of care. Never once did we feel unsafe throughout our staty. Earlier on we did excursions, and our hotel arranged for our drivers. NEVER a mishap! If you haven't guessed by now, we love the Excellence at the Riviera Maya! Already booked for 2027. Can't wait to see our second family, and enjoy the best Super Bowl party 🏈 Anniversary!

Other than the frigid pool temperatures, the rock hard bed and plastic pillows this place was amazing!

wonderful week at this beautiful resort. Staff are amazing. Lots of activities and entertainment programs. Food wasn't great at some of the restaurants, and food service poolside was slow. But overall would recommend it!

We recently stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancun, and overall, it was a beautiful and relaxing experience. The resort itself is immaculately maintained—from the lush landscaping to the spotless pathways and pools, everything felt cared for and upscale. One of our favorite features was the lazy river, which winds peacefully through the property and makes for a perfect, slow-paced way to unwind. The pools were all fantastic as well, offering plenty of space and a variety of vibes depending on what you’re looking for. The only downside was that the week we visited happened to be a bit chilly, so spending time in the main pool with the swim-up bar wasn’t as comfortable as we hoped. There is a heated pool, which was wonderful, though it’s partially connected to the swim‑out rooms of one of the buildings. When it comes to dining, Spice and the French restaurant stood out above the rest. The quality, flavor, and presentation at both were excellent, and they ended up being the places we looked forward to the most throughout our stay. Overall, Excellence Riviera Cancun delivers a beautiful resort experience with great dining options, relaxing pools, and impeccable grounds. Despite the cooler weather during our trip, we still had a wonderful time and would love to return under sunnier conditions.
