Excellence Riviera Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive

This was our 4th time visiting this property and as always, a fabulous experience. Check-in is so smooth! Ricardo is always there to answer questions and get you to your room asap. The service from Raul, Antonio, Mario, Moises - at the Excellence pool and bar continues to be outstanding!!! Friendly, professional, thoughtful, and exuding happiness! The cleanliness of the property is impeccable, the food is fresh, diverse and delicious and the night time entertainment....well....we are normally done for the night by 8pm! So, can't really comment on it. Special shout out to Cristina Montes (hospitality agent) for the extra work and care for helping us with our shuttle when our flight home was delayed. She eased the stress with a friendly face and following through with her promises. Thank you Cristina. We recently returned from our 29th Excellence Collection vacation. This was our 18th visit to Excellence Riviera Cancun, but we have previously visited Excellence Playa Mujeres, Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres, Excellence El Carmen, and Excellence Punta Canta in the past. ERC is our favorite resort as evidenced by our 18 visits! So many all-inclusive resorts have lovely grounds, stunning rooms, fabulous food, engaging activities as does ERC, but what sets one apart from the others is the STAFF. I am impressed that the staff at ERC always say “it’s my pleasure” instead of the “no problem” reply given in so many places. And that’s just the start. They sincerely want guests to have the best vacation ever and will do whatever is humanly possible to make that happen. So for this review I’d like to focus on the incredible staff members at ERC. They truly are the shining stars of the resort who will keep bringing you back to ERC to enjoy their excellent level of service. Some of our favorites include our first ERC friend from years ago, LUIS EK, who is an amazing server at Chez Isabelle. He’s the only person who has ever warmed a snifter for my husband’s Hennesey! Our first encounter with Luis truly showed us the warm and welcoming face of ERC and is the main reason we returned after our first visit. CHEF MARUCIO is a magician in the kitchen! And congrats to CHEF DAVID, former chef at Chez and Magna, who has now been promoted to head chef over the entire resort. We were so impressed with all the meals at Chez Isabelle including the surf and turf along with Beef Wellington, and the awesome cake made out of a chocolate shell with chocolate covered strawberries inside. CARLOS at the Kitchen Table brought a premixed carafe of half regular and half decaf coffee for a guest and had it waiting every day for him. He goes above and beyond to make a guest’s stay enjoyable. Plus there was the surprise farewell plate of treats at the end of our last breakfast there. YULISA is one of the best check-in hostesses at Kitchen Table, and CHRISTIAN FLORES is awesome as a server. Plus CHRISTIAN POOLE is the great manager. Kitchen Table definitely has an amazing buffet and is our favorite place for breakfast. Don’t miss a made to order omelet by MATEO. AMABLE and MOISES at the EC pool and beach work tirelessly to keep guests happy by constantly checking to see if they need any food or drink brought right to their spot. And all this is done with a smiling face even when the sun is broiling. ITAMAR is now our favorite beach concierge who made up our beach beds for us daily while engaging in most pleasant conversation. JOEL on the beach was excellent as well. BENJAMIN at Magna is another shining star. He delivers impeccable service to go along with that smile. And CHEF CRYSTAL is an awesome and personable chef in Magna’s kitchen! RICARDO delivers warm and friendly service as a bellman and has been with ERC for years. DAVID, JOSE, and ISAEL are also shining stars whom you may meet at the entrance of ERC as they take care of your luggage upon arrival and offer you a welcoming glass of champagne and a cool cloth. Don’t miss meeting LUCIA and ALBA at Aroma which is a Starbucks kind of place offering all sorts of coffees and delicious pastries and sandwiches. JENNIFER has risen through the ranks at ERC and now greets guests as the manager at Magna with that sweet smile. MARIA did an awesome job getting us checked in quickly in the EC lounge so we could begin our first day at ERC. These are but a few of the many faces of ERC that are so special. Looking forward to returning SOON.

Seven years running and we've already booked again for next year. Club level is grand, but every room is excellent regardless of room tier selected. It has become a common discussion among veterans now that we have noticed diminishing amenities and menu choices over time. We have also come to realize the aging of this resort. But even with these things that I have mentioned the service, the grounds, the facilites throughout are magnificent. Nobody works harder than the staff that you will witness at this resort. From the pools, the grounds, maintenance, and the restaurants...they are all working hard so that you can feel exclusive. You won't want to leave.

We have just got back after a 10 night stay and the experience was amazing! The staff work so hard and yet always smiling and so friendly and the hotel is immediately clean, great choice of restaurants big thank you to Gilberto Rodriguez who went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and was just brilliant! We have been to three different Excellence properties and continue to find ourselves returning to Riviera Cancun as often as we can. This time we traveled with friends as a group of five, staying in three Excellence Club rooms. Even with an emphasis on couples the resort and staff were accommodating wherever possible for our odd numbered group. We ranged in ages from 30-60, and all enjoyed the resort. There are some changes throughout the years that have slightly diminished our experience, but the Excellence Club benefits and the wonderful staff are they key reasons we continue to visit this resort. With the volume of activities, bars, restaurants, and ways to relax available we never tend to leave for excursions. As always, service was quick and issues handled extremely promptly. We enjoyed playing beach volleyball daily, and finding a quiet place to play cards and have drinks each night. The staff (as always) was above and beyond. We love hanging out at the Excellence club pool and were well taken care of by Amable, Ricardo (Cielo Bartender) and Mario (concierge). We also though Adrian and Diego were fantastic at the Grill. Finally, Adrian on the Entertainment staff was awesome managing a bunch of amateurs on the beach volleyball court! Looking forward to our next visit already!

My sisters and I had an amazing time. The property was beautiful and very clean. There was something for everyone. It was easy to navigate and we will return.

Amazing staff & resort. Forgot to mention the Head Landscaper Eluturio (spelling?) He is polite friendly interesting and amazingly talented. I'm sure there are more that I forgot but we have never come across anyone who is not friendly & welcoming!

Absolutely recommend this resort! Everything was a 5 star experience from service to dining options and atmosphere!!

We were welcomed and felt very comfortable immediately. Check in was smooth and we were acquainted with the property right away. The food options were amazing and we were impressed with the choices. Our favorite bar was Martini, Ricardo and Pablo are the best dudes. Definitely will be repeat guests.

This is our fourth year celebrating life at Excellence in Riviera Maya. Besides the beauty, cleanliness, services, activities, what really makes this all inclusive special are the people working there. From the concierges, bartenders, pool attendants, restaurant servers, food, to managers, one could not get more attention or have a better time. I would like to give a special shout out to our favorites, Angel o and Mark. Every activity with them is fun, spirited, inclusive and just the best. We could not live without the attention, caring, conversation and help we received from Itamar at the Club pool. Itamar could be our family. I’m dairy free and sorbet is getting very boring! Cristal a chef at Magna and a chef at The Kitchen Table surprised me with very special dairy free delicious desserts. Armando, the chef at Oregano made me delicious no cheese pizzas and Elena the friendliest hostess there could be at Oregano. I can’t forget to mention Luis the bartender at Magna who is exceptional! There are so many servers that are wonderful that I can go on forever. Christian Pool a waiter at The Kitchen Table tops the list! All in all, 2027 here we come!
