Lamb's Rest Inn

It was a beautiful, quiet setting on the Guadalupe River. It was ADULTS ONLY, which I really loved and appreciated. The building had private parking; enough parking for each room to have its own space. There is a combination lock on both the front door and the individual room doors. It has a big deck with chairs that look out to the river. There is an outside pool (which we didn’t use) and a jacuzzi, which we did use. There were lots of choices for breakfast (although many of them have a fair amount of sugar in them) and a Keurig that has all kinds of choices, for coffee in particular. The room we stayed in had a king size bed, two robes and a gas fireplace and and its own jacuzzi tub. The location is less than a mile to the historic town of Gruene, which is a super cute and fun little town.

I liked the property. The only negative was the manger/owner’s responses to two things. The first thing that happened is that we had just pulled out of the parking spot one day (I think it was the first morning/second day we were there) and were just sitting in part of the driveway loop that you take out of the parking area to leave the property. We were literally sitting there for a minute or two and I get a text saying that whoever’s “assistant” had seen us sitting in the loop driveway and to please only park in the designated spots. We were trying to figure out where to go and what to do. Yes, we were parked briefly, but were not planning on staying there. There was NO ONE else on the property (except the “assistant”), so what was the big deal? VERY irritating!! Also, my husband and I used the jacuzzi three days in a row. After the 3rd day, my arms and legs broke out in a terrible rash. Granted, I have relatively sensitive skin, but I’ve never had a rash this bad. I didn’t say anything until we left. I obviously should have said something right when the rash happened. When I did say something about the rash the day we left, the only response was that the jacuzzi gets cleaned every Tuesday and Friday and that the jacuzzi people had already been there that day and that the chemicals would be checked. There was NO response like, “I’m sorry you got a rash. I’ll be sure to check with the jacuzzi people and see if the chemicals are balanced.” Really?? I would think the manager/owner would be concerned that someone got a rash. But I guess not.

No gas grill or anything to cook with for a quick meal

It was close to everything.

It wasn’t kept up lots of leaves and spider webs everywhere. Lots of rules of things you couldn’t do but not many pros.

This place exceeded my expectations. Very responsive staff. Great accommodations. Everything was spacious and clean. Very quiet. Small property. Easy to get around. We enjoyed our stay so much and would go back. Would highly recommend!

Location was great, 5 min to Gruene Hall and 15 to New Braunfels, pool and hot tub were awesome! 2 min to Rockin R to float the Guadalupe. I loved the 18 & up policy as well

My husband didn’t like the No Smoking policy, however I don’t smoke and I get them not wanting to deal with cigarette butts etc.

Beautiful and peaceful. Can walk down to the river.
