Prince Solms Inn

We love the quaintness and the value for the money. The rooms are small, but very well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The owner goes out of his way to accomdate. This is a very low-hassle, easy to access place. There is a bar in the basement that serves wine and beer and a jazz band that we really enjoyed. Nice, pub-like atmosphere and very convenient!

We enjoyed our stay very much! The hotel was beautiful and very close to the 'downtown area'. We stayed in Sophie's Suite and it was beautiful and spacious. We were excited to possibly experience some ghostly activity, but our experience was minimal. I had seen that many people had complaints about 'noise' from the bar located directly below the room.... any music we could hear didn't bother us at all and would be done by 11:00 p.m. The hotel provides complimentary ear-plugs if needed. The owner was fairly receptive, once he figured out that his original judgement of us based on age and appearance was wrong - he automatically assumed we were young, loud, obnoxious party-types that were only interested in the bar. It wasn't until the day we were to check out that he was very interactive or friendly toward us. The breakfast wait-staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice and prepared fresh each morning. There are not many options if you are gluten-free, but that is generally to be expected when talking about breakfast items. Our overall experience with this hotel was great! We would definitely stay here again!

This was a wonderful bed and breakfast. Felt like home. The owner was a awesome gentleman who took the time to show us our room. We plan on spending more nights here!

Rooms are full of character, not huge in size, and it wasn't the most comfortable bed I've slept on, but fantastic atmosphere. It's not got a huge staff, so don't expect people to be on your beck and call, but everyone was very friendly, everything was clean, and it had all the amenities we expected. They provided earplugs in each room, and with them we had no trouble sleeping, but it does let you know that the creaky floors, thin walls, and street noise could be negatives for some people. We absolutely loved it though, and will be going back!

Had a great stay - breakfast was fabulous! Had plenty of space - King size, queen size bed and a roll away. Great for a family

We loved Prince Solms Inn. The people were wonderful and it was very quiet. The rooms are old fashioned and keep the feeling of the original time era that the inn was established. We would definitely book again in a heartbeat. The river and Schlitterbahn is a 10 minute walk with restaurants and bars along the way.

Can not say enough good things. If you Inn's are your thing and you want to stay in a place built in 1899 then this is it. Great location. Owner welcomes you and is super nice and genuine. A speakeasy bar and jazz deal in the basement. Can imaging secret passageways. Amazing. If you normally state in a Holiday Inn or Marriott then don't stay here as you will whine about noise from your neighbors or a 80 year old bath or a short shower head. You are too high maintenance to stay at a nice, unique Inn like this.

The Prince Solm inn was beautiful, quiet and charming. The bed was confortable, the room very spacious. I needed a check-in about 30 minutes after their posted time and, with one call to the owner, I was told it would be no problem! He greeted me and walked me upstairs to my room and we chatted about the area and the hotel. It was personable service and hospitality throughout my stay. Great location in downtown New Braunfels close to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was fresh and there was plenty of it! I love historic places and this one will be hard to beat!
