Borinquen Thermal Resort

This is truly a hidden gem. Beautiful nature, facilities and the friendliest staff. Waking up watching monkeys, toucans and raccoons pass by. The pool is beautiful with a swim up pool bar. The villas are very comfortable, spacious and in beautiful finca/hacienda like style. A special thanks to Armando the pool bar bartender, who took us for a chiliguarro and fruit tasting in the poolbar, explaining about CR culture. Truly one of the most amazing stays of our journey here.

I was looking for an authentic experience in the nature preserve of Rincon de la Vieja, and I was very pleased with this choice! I spent three days here. The location itself was the attraction, complete with swimming pool, hot spring thermal baths, mud bath...and above all simply the location in the middle of the tropical forest. Exotic birds fly around, iguanas scamper across the cut-grass lawns, monkeys are occasionally visible in the trees and more often audible when they howl. The rooms are in some dozen or so cottages scattered about the estate-like setting. Sunset on the balcony was a captivating theatre of nature. I enjoyed the on-site restaurant (there isn't really an alternative because of the secluded location of the hotel), dining-room servers like Diego, Mattheo and Alejandro, and the whole service team, provided cheerful and good service. Thumbs up!

This hotel is located in the most wonderful grounds with incredible walks and wildlife all around. It is very remote so no other options to eat. Apart from breakfast which was great; food was only ok at other times and service was often not great or slow.

Wir hatten einen Superior Bungalow gebucht. Sehr gross, tolles, grosses Badezimmer mit Aussicht. Das Restaurant liegt sehr schön mit grosser Aussenterrasse. Tolles, grosszügiges Areal, auf dem die Bungalows verteilt sind. Die Anfahrt zum Hotel ist etwas mühsam, da weit von der Hauptstrasse abgelegen. Immerhin ist die Strasse mittlerweile grösstenteils asphaltiert. Bis zum NP fährt man nochmals mindestens 45 Minuten. Für Naturliebhaber sehr schön, aber halt mit Fahrerei verbunden.

Service im Restaurant z.T. sehr unaufmerksam. Getränke mussten häufig mehrmals bestellt werden, da sie vergessen wurden. Restaurant nicht ganz günstig, aber mit guter Qualität. Als Teetrinker keine Chance an einen qualitativ guten Tee zu kommen. Am Pool hätten wir uns Sonnenschirme gewünscht. Ebenso sollte der Pool besser gereinigt werden - es hat sehr viele Blätter im Wasser.

Schöne Bungalows, Aussicht

Mittelmässiges Essen, qualitativ und Auswahl. Hohe Preise, und man ist abhängig vom Hotelservice. Wenn die Qualität stimmt kein Problem, was hier allerdings nicht der Fall war.

Prachtige locatie , zeer rustig gelegen . Goed restaurant. Mooie bungalows met grote kamer, veel spa faciliteiten , modderbad, en mooi wandelpad

Inchecken via Booking had medewerker 1 uur en 20 minuten voor nodig voor dat we de sleutel kregen . Ontbijt is uitgebreid maar beperkt zich tot 1 portie, anders moet je bijbetalen. Ons ontbijt bestond alleen uit glaasje granola, fruit en yoghurt en was wat magertjes . Als je moeilijk ter been bent liggen de huisjes best ver lopen

Die Ausnutzung der einsamen Lage in Form von überhöhten Preisen hat unseren Aufenthalt doch etwas beeinträchtigt. Man tut gut daran, ein 6Pack oder eine Flasche Wein im Kofferraum zu haben. Oberhalb von Zimmer 502 kann man, auch ohne Führung, bis auf den Gipfel wandern und die Aussicht genießen
