"Good resort facilities, surroundings and locat but disappointed with the condition of the apartment."

7.0

Main building surroundings and facilities very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Good location for town and Isle of Wight ferry.

Apartment out of date and needs upgrading. No view. Unpleasant smell from sewage treatment plant. Cleanliness of apartment was poor and some crockery and glasses were missing.

"Low expectations, but had a great family break!"

7.0

Great friendly welcome upon arrival at reception. Beautiful old building. We were aware that the establishment was a little weathered, so expectations were low, but for the price we paid, we weren’t expecting it to be exceptional. The hotel had every amenity, the leisure club is great, outdoor pool lovely (although a little cold). The location is perfect, easy access to Lymington, walk or train. We stayed there in the self catering rooms in the main building. They were a little tired looking but had everything.

Coffee was £5. Pool times for families are restrictive but manageable.

"It does the job"

6.0

We stayed in west court cottage and it had all amenities. Oven, microwave, dishwasher and pots/pans. It could benefit from more cleaning and refurbishment. Not sure if the style was meant to be retro but I would like a new carpet, curtains and bed cover. The inside pool was not bad. BEDBUGS were an issue. They had a feast on me and my family.

"Not what I envisioned."

5.0

The room was clean, well-presented, and in a good state of decor. The size of the television and the provided apps was a bonus.

The lounge and bedroom had patio doors but no windows. I had less than two hours broken sleep each night because the room was hot and stuffy as I could not leave the patio doors open. The quilt was very thick - not suitable for summer months. It would have been better had an extra sheet / thin cover been provided given the circumstances.

"Great location, but need to sort out the moths and mosquitoes"

6.0

Staff seemed better trained and were all polite, helpful and smiley.

Our apartment had a bit of a clothes moth infestation and was also full of mosquitoes. Constantly killing moths all week and got bitten to shreds the first night having already killed a dozen or so mozzies. Apart from opening the front door to go in, we hadn’t opened the windows or doors before our first night, so they were already in there and we had to go and buy plug-in mosquito killers for both bedrooms. Not great and my youngest still has itchy bites nearly two weeks later.

The facilities were good value for money. Location was perfect especially for someone without a car. Close to train stations and Lymington pier is a beautiful town to visit.

Our accommodation was meant to be a two bed but was really a 1 bed with and an extra bedroom in the front room separated by a curtain. The food and drink is quite expensive.

"Lovely venue with period vibe, we enjoyed our stay a lot"

9.0

Lovely venue, period atmosphere and vibe, good size apartment, nice staff, good food options at the hotel bar / restaurant, nice indoor pool and facilities, lovely landscape & gardens, great location. We enjoyed a lot the hotel to relax and use as base to explore new forest.

Breakfast could have been better and there were inconsistencies. One morning there was buffet plus continental breakfast, really good. Next one morning buffet had half choices and continental was half portions compared to previous day.
