Inn at St John Portland In-Town

It was quaint

The breakfast was a little underwhelming

Excellent traditional English type hotel.Superb breakfast,free tea and coffee.Only 15 minutes walk from Amtrak.

Historic feel of the place was cool. Neighborhood was fun, including the pizza place across the street where we were able to catch the NBA playoffs. Location was not too far (20 minute walk) from State Theatre, Longfellow Square, and the Portland Art Museum.

Bed and pillows were not great.

The staff was wonderful and friendly. The inn was a genuine historical building with great ambiance. The breakfast options, sitting area and place to converse with other guests was our favorite part.

Be aware when they say 3 steps, it’s 3 steps above the full flight of stairs.

Gorgeous and incredibly classy, this old hotel lacks modern amenities but makes up for it with unprecedented charm.

The carpet was a little yucky but just because it was obviously like 50 years old, haha. So not a dealbreaker!
