The complex is stylishly designed surrounded by a lot of trees and plants. The wood makes it look cosy. The deck garden rooms are spacious, with a private terrace with hammocks to chill on. Washing machine and hair dryer worked well. Bed was comfortable and good hot water pressure. Staff were helpful at reception and maintenance. Breakfast was good. We enjoyed the beach club access. Parking in front of hotel.

However, this hotel has a serious humidity and mould problem. As soon as you step close to the outer door, you immediately smell the humidity. Even though we opened everywhere, and put both the ACs on dehumidifier, the smell was still very strong. Green mould spores are visible on walls and ceilings, which is very unhealthy and concerning. Some clothes we left out, absorbed the smell. It is something which seriously you need to take into consideration. Also, i found it surprising that guests had to wash the breakfast plates and whatever they used during breakfast, in the sink provided. Not usual in hotels. Also, the private deck pool was only cleaned once after our arrival. It was full of leaves and debris, so we could only use it once. I think it's time for a renovation.

Our stay here for 2 weeks was truly wonderful. The staff are very friendly and are helpful at all times. The free breakfast was also very lovely. We would definitely stay here again when coming back to Mexico. They also have bikes you can use and a scooter you can rent. Also if you want to rent a quad just ask the front desk and they will assist you. Great location. 10 minute scooter ride to the public beach. They are affiliated with Ikal Hotel which is in the Jauger park. It has a really beautiful beach for swimming. You have to pay to enter the park. Just bring your hotel key and you can enter ( that is your reservation they will ask for it at the start of the park ) the cost to enter is kinda high but worth going to check out.

From outside, the hotel looks very impressive. The ceiling in our room is full of mold from moisture that hasn't been treated for a long time. The pillows in the rooms stank so much that we just gave up on them. The flooring in the hotel courtyard is incomplete, maybe it's beautiful but it's not efficient if you want to drag your suitcases. There is no elevator at the hotel, and you have to carry everything up the stairs. The hotel does not set for more than two or three tables at breakfast, there is a lack of self-service kitchenware, and guests wash the dishes to use the utensils of those who have finished. It is impossible that except one receptionist (who is not there every day) no one knows English.

The room was clean although the property could use some attention. In our three day stay we never saw one person in the pool. The breakfast was simple (eggs or waffles), powdered milk for the coffee & the just was Tang.

This place was terrible. From the staff being rude and unresponsive, To the place being not like it is advertised. The pictures definitely look better thn in real life. The private pools are unsable and full of spiders. There is a moldy smell in the rooms. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing. The staff was barely present if you needed help with something and also rude.

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour à Amaka malgré un voisin bruyant… Il est assez proche du centre à pied et bien desservi par les taxis.

The property is in a location that was close to town,nice shops,and restaurants. The Amaka property is relaxing and calm with helpful and friendly people working there.

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits dans cette hôtel « 3 étoiles ». Nous avons vraiment été déçu sur le petit dej inexistant et pas bon du tout. Seulement 2h pour prendre le petit déjeuner et si vous arrivez à 9h50 on vous dit que ça ferme. Nous avons demandé une bouteille d’eau ils ont jamais voulu nous la donner même si on voulait l’acheter c’était impossible. Le seul personnel sympa est celui du ménage sinon les autres parle à peine anglais et sont pas agréable du tout ni arrangeant. A fuir, ce n’est pas un 3 étoiles mais un 2 pour la France

The fact that it’s non refundable should have been a !!warning !! of how terrible of a hotel this is . I was booked for two weeks but I found it unbearable that I left a week early even though they wouldn’t refund my payment back . Housekeeping was terrible , dinghy linens , towels had holes and pillows and curtain had mildew and smelled dirty it is one of the worst experiences I’ve had. !I’m amazed anyone can say anything positive Receptionists couldn’t do anything else but apologize . It makes wonder how so many positive reviews showed up on expedias site for this place.
