Sawmill Creek by Cedar Point Resorts

My husband and I, as new parents, were gifted a relaxing night away at Sawmill creek and in the words of a man who was checking out when we were, the experience was “like being held captive at Guantanamo Bay.” We happen to go the weekend of a volleyball tournament at the cedar point sports center….. and all of the young teenage girls were also staying at the hotel. They were essentially running wild. Running, yelling, and playing hide and seek up and down the hallways. The doors of the rooms SLAM shut so, with all of the girls coming in and out, it was constant. The pool (the only thing to do in the winter at Sawmill) was packed from 3-7 with teenage girls. They even had a loudspeaker with a microphone that they were singing “karaoke” in the common area. The common area that had sweatpants, socks, and bags scattered around. Now, the only complaint with the hotel itself that we had was with the loud slamming doors. It was clean, updated, and the staff was great. We were updated to a nicer room which was generous but unfortunately, it was a packed house and our problems of the running and screaming girls followed us there….. until 12am. I write this as someone who works at a high school and volunteers with the youth. I understand young people should be in public spaces and should be children, but this was ridiculous. We would not come back because of the risk of another tournament weekend.

The restaurant choice. Not many options especially for kids. Pricey as well. Had to leave and get food elsewhere.
