1802 House Bed & Breakfast

The house and grounds were lovely as was our host. Beautiful, quiet setting close to the center of town. Breakfast was good, especially the fruit and yogurt.

The Berwick room is very small without even a place to sit on other than the bed. The bathroom could use some work. The light in the shower didn’t come on. There were no bathrobes. I think it was a little overpriced because of these factors.

It's taken me a while before writing this review because I needed to do do this place justice - we had an excellent stay. The location, grounds, rooms, hosts, and of course breakfast were all wonderful.

There was really nothing we didn't like.

It was cute and the innkeeper was sweet and genuine. The breakfast was excellent. The parking was plentiful. The room and bathroom were decorated nice. The bed was comfortable.

The place was a ghost town and we checked in at 5. Just too quiet. It felt like I was sneaking into grandmas house. You walk in and no one is there, ever. We literally hunchback tippy toed to the room. Absolutely nothing to do on site. The location was far from town. Not what someone would consider walking distance. The room was clean but I wanted to turn on the fireplace since it was freezing, but there was no remote or anything, so it was just a black hole in the room. The front door had a bell, every time someone would walk in the bell would reverberate through the whole place and my room was far from the front door. The bathroom had a jet tub, but to step into the tub to shower was nuts, can’t imagine any older person doing it. Forget watching the TV, every time you changed the channel it just spun and spun. So no TV. The whole vibe wasn’t for me. I would say to add a happy hour, hors d'oeuvres, a piano player, have bikes on site, give fresh towels everyday, give free cable stations, maybe a cookie when you check in or a person to welcome you, not an envelope taped to the door…something. I am shocked by the price for this experience.

Comfortable bed with soft luxurious sheets. The best hotel towels I’ve ever experienced. And 2 wonderful breakfasts! Very quiet

That I couldn’t stay longer.

This B&B is utterly charming and picturesque New England. It's a short walk to main street, so we didn't have to drive for dinner or shopping in town. The hosts are very welcoming and kind, making us feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious and the room was cozy. I loved the fireplace and books along the mantle, as well as the wine glasses and other personal touches. Really nice stay!
