Carter House Inns

Didn’t explain that our room was not in main building. That’s a problem, there’s no elevator, so you need to carry luggage up front steps.

It was a beautiful place walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Carter House. The bartender made us mocktails because we didn’t want the options that they had. I was also able to charge our EV at no cost. Location is very convenient for Eureka.

There was no enough parking for our vehicle at night and we had to park on the street with lots of homeless about. The toilet kept getting stuck and wasting water. The staff in the breakfast room and front desk were nice, but needed help during the busy breakfast and afternoon check in times.

We will be returning to this beautiful, historical inn. The rooms were gorgeous, clean and had plush, comfy bedding. Breakfast was tasty, and ending the day with a wonderful selection of wine was a highlight. The staff was very hospitable with helpful recommendations for excursions. We highly recommend eating at their restaurant, Restaurant 301. It was a culinary highlight of our trip! The Carter House stay was both cozy and elegant, and a special way to experience the history of Eureka.

Didn't like that we couldn't control the temp in our room. Was wayyyyy too warm at a point

The staff here wins all the awards! Had an amazing stay and even when I messed my reservation up, they accommodated me and did so in the most gracious way possible. If my son chooses college in the area, we’ll be regulars for sure!

Loved our stay here!!! Staff was very friendly. The breakfast was outstanding. Great little bar and enjoyed wine by the fireplace. Our suite was spacious and just perfect!!! We had our two beagles with us and this is a very pet friendly hotel!!! Plenty of safe parking on street. Fair number of homeless in area but never felt unsafe walking around and this beyond the control of hotel. Would definitely stay here again!!!!!

Lovely stay here. Comfortable, clean room and the food and wine was excellent. Pet friendly and they went out of their way to welcome us. Other pluses were the attentive and kind staff and the warm fireplace. Walking distance to restaurants and local attractions.

The curtains cannot block out the light, so the brightness in the early morning affects my sleep. The hotel has very few parking spaces, although it’s possible to find parking along the street.
