Lovely property Nice decor The night shift reception was lovely

Property stated a bar, outside seating and spa None there ( closed for a long time ) Disappointed wasn’t the word as these were the reason why I booked

Lovely hotel and right in the heart of Newcastle, close to amazing bars and restaurant. We had the Richard Grainger Suite for 2 nights which was lovely and big and split over 2 levels. Only giving 4 stars as the shower(which is a lovely double shower) leaked terribly and I had to clean the shower heads as they were so blocked with limescale that no water was flowing. Once cleaned they were perfect. When this was reported they said “yes we know” Bed & pillows - most comfortable we’ve ever had in a hotel. Breakfast - absolutely amazing and plentiful. Really sets you for the day. Staff - very helpful and friendly. Location - 5 🌟 Food and drinks Great cocktail/ wine bar - The Grey Owl (less than a minute walk) Great Thai restaurant 1 minute walk - Nandon Thai Noteworthy details Carpark is Dean St which is a minutes walk. Pay by phone as this is more convenient and you can keep track of timings.

First the positive, lovely staff who are helpful and accommodating. The hotel itself is good enough, personally I think it could do with a really good deep clean including the windows, and a bit of modernisation generally, including the beds, but it is an old building and it has kept some of its old grandeur. Everything you need is provided just a little spruce up needed. Now the not so good. Newcastle is a party town so Friday and Saturday expect some noise off the street. The hotel lets you know this and its fine. Unfortunately there was also some significant noise from some guests which was really challenging. I didn't sleep at all and decided I needed to move hotels for my final day in Newcastle. I informed the team in the morning who helped me access enquiries. Following an email on the same day, to my delight they gave me a full refund for the night I cancelled. I was extremely grateful and it highlights they take customer satisfaction seriously. Thank you.

Close to city centre, easy to get around. Handy for local transport, handy for restaurants and bars but not noisy. Lovely staff. Great breakfast.

No bar, no coffee bar also used to have a spa which I was looking forward too using but unfortunately it has closed down.
