Artto Hotel Glasgow

Very convenient for train

I arrived this hotel after a train journey from London - I had read the reviews & it seemed good value for a 1 night short stay before going to a conference nearby. I arrived to a shabby looking hotel in a fairly undesirable area. Having already been told the lift is out of order and no known date for its repair I’d had to phone to request a room on the first floor as I suffer with mobility issues. This was done, but it required a walk up 3 short flights of stairs. The bottom of the stairs is a fire exit which it seems was shared with adjoining Indian takeaway as had staff members in the doorway. The room itself was basic and not particularly welcoming - the bathroom although clean had black marks in the grout and in the bottom of the bath. I didn’t feel comfortable staying here so booked another nearby hotel (the one motel) for not much more and left my door key at reception on the way out. The other hotel was a million miles away from the standard here so my advice is stay elsewhere.

Perfect location across from Glasgow Central. Nice big room with everything I needed for one night.

Handy for the train stations and close enough to walk to the 02 Academy Central location at a fair price

Lift not working was difficult with heavy bags

Everything fine. No complaints.

Room was nice and clean but walls had a few stains on them. Bathroom was clean. The room was very nice spacious with large windows. Only problem was the noise from outside but after 11.30pm this stopped. Lift was not working but I don't use lifts and I was on the first floor. I did ask if there was breakfast but the assistant on the desk said there was not.
