Red Roof Inn & Suites Newport - Middletown, RI

I liked that there was a washer & dryer. I liked that there was a small area for the dog. I liked that there were some stores within walking distance. I liked that the owners were hard workers and despite all the things I didn't like, they were there everyday, all day, working. And most of them had a smile on their face.

The AC units are molded, dirty, and smell. When they're running they stink up the room and the linens. We washed all of our bedding the first night we were there. They were kind enough to vacuum it out so we sprayed it with lysol and bought candles. Most of the pillows are old, flat and stained. There is no water pressure in the shower. The tub is slippery and no bathtub mat was provided. There is no counter space in the bathroom for personal effects. A shelf in the bathroom would go a long way. I didn't like that the ceiling in the bathroom was peeling. It was extremely unsettling every time I looked up. The windows were dirty. There were no proteins for breakfast. No bacon, no sausage. Just rubbery eggs.

I had to drive from New Jersey after work, for a funeral the next morning, so got their very late/early am, and appreciated someone being at the desk when I arrived.

We booked this last minute when our plans changed and our other hotel was fully booked. I had low expectations but I was pleasantly surprised with how nice this was. The rooms had clearly been recently updated and were clean. The bathrooms were nice, the beds were comfy, and the free breakfast was decent as well. Staff was extremely friendly

Very clean everything neat and organized upon arrival staff friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast served hot good assortment of fare. Hotel was on main Street so travel was easy.

A/C noisy and did not cool, bed rock hard, awful cleaning solution smell everywhere

The breakfast was good. There was a good selection and even eggs and sausage. That was a nice surprise. The coffee was not very good.
