Clean, friendly staff, safe area. It’s a bargain hotel so there weren’t many amenities, which is fine because we expected this. All in all, would stay here again for as the cost and cleanliness were all we needed.

DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANES. THE THIEVING OWNER OF THIS *FRANCHISED* RED ROOF INN STOLE $169.00 OF MY MONEY WHILE LOUDLY LAUGHING ABOUT IT. On Sunday, I was within proximity of a national tragedy that occurred in the city I live in - a horrifying, terrible moment. I went to this Red Roof Inn to get far away from what occurred. All people in Rhode Island are currently acting beautifully, in support of each other. EXCEPT FOR THE MANAGER OF THIS HORRIBLE MOTEL. At 9:30 on Sunday, I had called this manager to ask about booking another day at their motel. They explained the terms of their room types, which I assumed, and said I would be extending my reservation another day. Upon making the reservation, the owner of this franchise - or a woman CLAIMING to be the owner - began ANGRILY banging on my door, saying I needed to make another deposit. When I questioned the need to make multiple deposits on something simple, the landlord then literally called the police - a 911 call, the day after a horrific mass death tragedy - and started screaming I was refusing to leave the motel. Which I very obviously was not, with witnesses. This was all before noon. The banging on my door happened before 11, their check-out time. When I went to my room to very quickly get my things, I filmed the entire procedure to show that there was no damage to my room, nothing out of order, the time I left and that I should not be charged a security deposit, because there were no damages. The owner - or woman who CLAIMED to be the owner - started laughing, saying "videotaping is against the rules, you broke the rules, we get your deposit!" - and refusing to refund a day's stay that had not started yet, not anywhere near close to it. I HAD QUIETLY ASKED THIS WOMAN TO SHOW SENSITIVITY TO MY PROXIMITY TO A SHOOTING, AND SHE WASTED POLICE TIME, STOLE FROM A CONSUMER AND ACTED HOSTILE AND FRIGHTENING. IF THIS MONEY IS NOT REFUNDED TO MYSELF, I WILL BE TAKING THIS MOTEL TO COURT. I AM ADAMANTLY TELLING THIS MOTEL TO RETURN BOTH MY MONEY FOR THE DEPOSIT AND THE DAY'S STAY I PAID FOR AND DID NOT USE A SINGLE MINUTE OF. DO NOT TRUST THESE THIEVES. THE STOLE MY MONEY AND MOCKED HORRIFIC TRAGEDY. A TERRIBLE, REPREHENSIBLE, THIEVING AND UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS YOU SHOULD NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY OR TRUST TO UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. STAY FAR AWAY.

Fitted sheet wasn’t the right size and came off the bed immediately, and staff was loud during quiet hours. Night experience was not good. Also staff seemed inattentive overall.

I checked into the Red Roof Inn in Middletown around 10:30 PM and left just a few hours later after finding cockroaches crawling in my room. At about 1:00 AM, before even going to sleep, I got up to use the bathroom and watched roaches come out. Absolutely disgusting. I went straight to the front desk, handed over my key, and was told I’d receive a full refund when the manager came in the next morning. That refund never happened. I called repeatedly—every time I was fed a new excuse. First the manager “wasn’t in,” then he was “on leave,” then finally a woman claiming to be the manager got rude and defensive, insisting there was “nothing wrong” with her hotel and that it had been “inspected.” Complete nonsense. I sent them photos of a roach crawling on their desk, and they still denied everything. This place is dirty, dishonest, and run by people who clearly have no concern for guests or the truth. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.
