Hotel Villa Caletas

Exquisite. Can’t wait to come back. So close to Jaco but so far far away

This hotel is a gem. If you are in the area or passing by, at least go for the sunset. Beds are top notch, as well as all of the amenities. The whole atmosphere is also relaxed. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Views are amazing, the hotel is almost 30 years old and starting to show, yet maintenance is great. Staff is friendly. Food is good. Should work a little on their breakfast coffee and some freshwater in the rooms. Yet the stay was simply delightful.

Anyone who has anything negative to say about this place was hired by one of their competitors. I was there by myself and aside from being the only gringo and only traveler who wasn’t there with a wife or on a honeymoon the staff was very helpful and friendly. The most unique place I’ve ever stayed. Like a 5 star hotel in a jungle treehouse. I saw a few negative reviews on trip advisor about people who found a spider in their room or whatever and yeah it’s a jungle so if you’re dumb enough to leave your windows or doors open that could happen but it would be the guests fault. The other funny thing is that most of the people who left a bad review started off with “I stay at 5 star hotels all over the world”. No offense but people who really stay at 5 star hotels around the world are doing much better things than leaving bad reviews for great places. I’m exempt because this is a positive review , but I’ve stayed at castles in Ireland to presidential suites in Vegas and Dubai and Villas Caletas was easily one of the best for scenery, professional staff, and overall comfort. My Spanish is mediocre at best and it didn’t matter at all. Would recommend this place to anyone

Lovely place, great team. Amazing location.

We loved the infinity pool. Did not like the location of our rooms. The rooms had a lovely view but were very far away from pool and restaurant and the walk was uphill. Definitely not suited for anyone wiyh mobility issues.

This property was absolutely amazing. Every view from any sort of window or balcony was stunning at all times of the day. The pool was wonderful and very clean. The rooms were clean and the maid service did a great job every day. The food at the restaurant was also amazing. Staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Every aspect far exceeded my expectations. Truly an awesome resort.

This was just a quick, solo, weekend stay before a business trip and I thought the facility was outstanding. The room number of my suite was 34. It was a large, decadent suite with a huge bathroom, shower, and jetted tub inside and a nice hot tub out on the patio as well. The patio was a beautiful place to start my mornings with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the afternoon. I took the trail down to the beach one day which I really enjoyed. They provide walking sticks if you like, but I didn't grab one. I did it in my Chaco sandals and it took me about 45 minutes with many stops for photos and to enjoy the wildlife and views. I would warn that the the trail is fairly steep and treacherous in places with dry leaves making the trail slippery. I didn't have any falls, but if you're unsteady on your feet, this trail is not for you. I enjoyed a few drinks down at the beach and the staff down there is amazing. I just took the shuttle back up the hill. As for dining options, I thought the food was of a reasonable standard, but the serving staff was not. No classical fine dining training for the staff at either of the two restaurants. The service was choppy and teamwork was non existent. I very much enjoyed many cocktails presented at the bar. I found it very unprofessional that only designated staff could print checks and accept payment in the bar though. The sunset from the bar is not to be missed. If you're someone who enjoys a glass of wine in your room, bring your own.
