Residency Hotel Fort

The staff are amazing. They make the hotel one of the best places to stay in the Fort district. They are attentive and willing to help with anything from restaurant reservations, planning day trips, and anything else you could think of. Whenever I came back to the hotel I'd spend some time chatting with the lobby crew and they were incredibly open and friendly. The breakfasts are good and cater to western as well as local tastes. I appreciated the complementary chai throughout the day and partook most days of my visit. A shout out to the waiter who remembered my order specifications, every time. In addition they have a relationship with a local restaurant for in-room dinner service. I found it quick, delicious, and great value for money. The portions are generous. I really enjoyed the location. It's fairly easy to get to from the airport (BOM) and it's away from the hustle and bustle of the core Fort district but, close enough to reach it easily. There are great restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores nearby.

The rooms need updating. My room was reasonably clean but some of the furniture were old and missing pieces. The desk and cabinets doors were missing sections of their veneers, there were cracks in the shower floor and walls, and I found the air conditioner's power varied. Also, something I found annoying was that the bathroom door would automatically close and had to be wedged open to stay open. It also creaked loudly, which made retrieving things from the bathroom less convenient. Also, with the door closed, there was no way to cool the bathroom. Beyond that, the walls are a little thin and you can hear into the hallway and some of the sound from the neighbouring rooms.

Lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good and had nice coffee. We booked 2 tours from the hotel which were very good and informative.

Nice location on a “quiet street” right in the middle of Fort. Friendly stuff. Traditional indian breakfast.

They gave an “upgrade” to the club rooms in the building next door to the main one. Great big room but the elevator is so noisy that it shakes the whole building every time it goes… I checked in at 2am but at 5.45 I was already awake. I can also mention the bad and thin windows with generators right outside…
