Loch Rannoch Hotel and Spa

Great hotel in beautiful location, relax o get active this hotel has it all. Hired e- bike such a great way to see lots of wonderful scenery off road. Took trail through Carie and onto Glen Lyon. Was exhausted and sore after and took a cold dip from beach at marina to ease aching muscles followed by hot shower in changing rooms. On Sunday morning you can book a Wild Swim with Rebecca Minogue winter time 9.30am. The hotel organises this £12.50 to book. Not very well advertised, it is every Sunday just ask reception. She is an experienced open water swimmer & Tri -Athlete. Optional wet suits provided. I booked and usually just dip but with Rebecca felt safe to swim out. After you have facilities to warm up and have hot drink. Highly recommend if you want to see what the fuss is about and want to try swimming in cold water book this session with Rebecca you will be buzzed for the rest of the day. Experienced swimmers you will have company to challenge yourself a longer swim safely. Sunday lunch later was great in Wild Brownie bar Timor sat us in window with great view of Shiehallion. I chose beef which was cooked perfectly pink in middle. We asked for extra gravy and it was brought in cute little gravy pots for each person. So much is on offer here with kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, bikes, sauna and spa, it may not be as relaxing as you planned. Cornerstone Bar in village is welcoming and do fantastic pizzas well worth a visit. Country store sells Home made in Rannoch items which make great gifts, the shortbread and Marmalade bring my favourites. This hotel has log fires which is a must for me when visiting Scotland. This hotel has it all.

Excellent dog friendly place to stay if you like the great outdoors. This was our third visit in 18 months. Surroundings plus good food and swimming pool and sauna makes for a very relaxing short break. Staff very friendly.

We stayed for 2 nights in the hotel. Beautiful hotel set in a lovely location. Our room had a stunning view across the loch and room was so comfortable and equipped with everything you could need! Lovely heated pool with a sauna and steam room which was brilliant as a winter warmer! All staff were lovely and friendly. We would stay again!

We stayed overnight and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The hotel is typiclaly what you would expect from a Scottish country estate but the bathroom was especially nice and seemed to be recently rennovated. We had a loch view which was stunning and the food was great. Nothing seemed to be an issue.

From the moment we checked in, our stay was nothing short of absolute perfection. We chose this hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and the entire team went above and beyond to ensure it felt like a truly special and memorable visit. Especially Maddy, Alanna and Marta. Everyone pulled together to operate tight ship. I had contacted the hotel prior to our visit to arrange some extra perks for my wife's 40th birthday. They had clearly noted the reason for our visit, and the personalized greeting and small touches like the birthday treat waiting in our room made us feel genuinely cared for and welcomed. Every interaction was marked by warmth and professionalism. The food was exceptional, some of the best we have ever had at the main restaurant, and the experience was flawless. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted divine. My wife is still talking about the lamb! Thank you for creating an environment that allowed us to simply relax and celebrate without a single concern. This was, without a doubt, a five-star experience, and we are already looking forward to planning our next trip back. Highly recommended for a special occasion or just a relaxing getaway!

Great hotel and stay. The bedrooms were good and dinner was brilliant, but breakfast not so great and would have been better being cooked fresh from the kitchen.

We were shown to table by an older woman in a suit and handed a menu…no explaining or anything and I had to call her back to say for coffee and wanting to order veggie breakfast…it was like we annoyed her. We had to give a time for breakfast but I can’t understand why when it was a bad buffet …we would expect a Buffett at such a nice place. We were disappointed…we watched other being seated and from young gentleman he was great explaining menu but the woman was rude to others. The facilities were good but the sauna was not working in the morning which was annoying as that is one of main reasons we booked as it’s a treat. Overall not value for money and we were so disappointed as we saved to have a special experience for our 10 year anniversary and left disappointed. We had an excellent (very last minute) stay at Loch Rannoch Hotel and Estate. The staff were all efficient, friendly and well informed. We rented ebikes and ate at both restaurants. The food was great. I think it was unseasonably busy due to the excellent weather but the staff were working all out. I think the only comment we really had was that we would have appreciated a fridge in the room, the fresh milk (which was a nice touch) had soured as it had been sitting in the sun before we arrived and our package deal had a bottle of prosecco but no ice or means to chill it. We had a really great stay all in all!

Views were stunning as were the sunsets from both the terrace and my room - adult only hour in the pool helpful when busy - spa treatments were relaxing and just what I needed - my only disappointment was the breakfast which was a self-service buffet style and very little choice for alternatives

Some of the staff were friendly, particularly the breakfast staff. However, other staff were unhelpful and didn’t show any interest in pleasing their guests. The manager was particularly rude and unhelpful when interacting with guests. The staff seemed rushed off their feet, running around but not appearing to be aware of the impact on guests who are trying to enjoy a calm and relaxing break. A lot of areas of the hotel are old, in need of repair and attention. The food was very good yet expensive. Overall, our stay was disappointing and doesn’t seem to be reaching its full potential.
