The location of the property was excellent, the view of the room was beautiful.

reception guy, was not polite, responsible, and they were did not care about our reservation, although we had a reservation, they wanted to charge us more, we asked them to pay the reservation in booking, they said noooo it is not working, they mentioned they have gym and pool, when we referred to the beside building for gym and pool they mentioned we don't have any contract with hotel anymore, you need to pay $47 a day to use them. They reported the previous owners had contract with us but it had been 4 years that the new owner has not had any agreement with us, but they still tell their passengers that they can use gym and swimming facilities.

The outside is kept immaculate, it’s beautiful! The inside is clean and has large rooms.

Room was large, functional and clean. Building is grand and beautiful with a lovely view. There was water and apples available at the front desk daily, along with the newspaper. There is a restaurant and a gym. We had a great view from our room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was very good.

More than expected frustration points: Room thermostat did not seem to work; it was very warm and would not cool down, so we had to open the windows to get the temperature low enough for sleep. At our one visit to the dining room, we were looking forward to a quiet dinner and got sat right next to the live entertainment, so it wasn't what we wanted. The elevator seems to take a few iterations to learn, as it takes a combination of your room key and pressing the right version of floor number button (there were two sets, one which worked for some floors but not others). The room was located next to housekeeping and so it was noisy at times, like being next to running washers and dryers. The heavenly bed was not heavenly. The parking was expensive. And, there were a few outlets that weren't working but had lamps plugged into them, so that was a task on us.

There are no grocery stores nearby. If you have a suite with a kitchen, you'll need to stock up elsewhere before you arrive.

This was first stay at this property, so I didn't have any certain expectations. I picked it because it was the same price as the Four Points, which I've stayed at a few times, so I thought I would give it a try since I was only staying in Victoria for 1 night. I was came in on a late ferry ride, so I didn't check-in until around 11:30pm. The front desk was nice enough, but not particularly helpful. Not sure if he assumed I wanted to check in as fast as possible because it was late. I ended up needing to ask a lot of questions as a first time visitor like: - where do I park? - where is the gym? - where is elite welcome gift breakfast served? And at what time? And even asking about breakfast, he completely forgot to give me the voucher to claim the breakfast. I had to ask for it the next morning. After getting through check-in, I had some time to admire the space. It's very nice. As a resort, the structure has lodge-like resemblance to the Westin Whistler, although the furniture in front of restaurant has a more urban-lounge feel than a lodge-feel. A bit of a weird mix, but still nice. We got to our room on the 5th floor, and I think were we upgraded (front desk didn't mention it) because our room faced the golf course. It was dark, but the next morning, I saw it was fantastic view. And a huge deck. The room itself was also very large. It had a fridge and microwave, and the WiFi worked well. I had some problems using some of the light fixtures, as I felt there was a combination of a wall switch that operated some of the lights. I couldn't get any of the bed LED lamps to work at all. Being on a remote location, and not prime golf season, noise was not an issue at all. I briefly used the gym on the lowest level. It was a bit had to find because it's tucked to the side of the spa, and you need to go through a couple of doors to actually find it. It's a decent size but since no one else was there, it was good enough for me. We had breakfast in Callisto. Their menu clearly states that elite members (Platinum) can get a free continental breakfast, or a $18 credit toward any dish. I ended up getting the beef hash which was pretty good and sizeable portion. Overall, I liked the property. Being the same price as the Four Points, it offers a much better room, much better restaurant and great surrounding views. Check-in service could have been handled much better, but wasn't terrible. I would definitely consider coming back.
