The Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa, Victoria

Fantastic location.

Rooms a bit dated.

Everything. Check in was easy as was check out. Room was wonderful with lots of room and lovely view over golf course. Breakfast in the restuarant was a treat as well.

Nothing

We stayed for the 2nd year in a row...and the same exact incident happened during our stay. The Friday night was awesome, we dined in the restaurant and enjoyed our corner view golf course suite. Night two was the complete opposite, where our room seemed to be on top of a music filled party. The floor was vibrating to the bass and we could sing along to the music (if we only knew the word) until 12am. Despite going downstairs 3 times and complaining to the front service manager (Fabiana), we were only told that "there was nothing she could do". Which is funny, because it was Fabiana whom we talked to the previous year, and she said exactly the same thing. We were dumb enough to think they might have taken our advice after our similar experience the first year and moved all non-wedding party guests to at least the 3rd floor, but no such luck. I have been a Bonvoy member for a long time and stayed at 100's of hotels. I have never seen such poor management and no concern about the comfort of their guests. Sadly, as much as I love the area, you would be more comfortable sleeping in your car on a Saturday night than staying above a club.

Spa was great and staff were amazing

1. Restaurant food was mediocre, but service was even worse. We sat, unattended for 15min before my spouse had to get up and ask for water. We were served one drink over the 1.5hours we were there, and never asked again if we wanted anything else. We only stayed as long as we did because we had to wait for the one machine to be finished with at other tables. 2. The hotel room was clean and nice, but with only a basic cable box and no ability to access any streaming services, we became disenchanted with our stay. So, we packed up and left to go home by 10pm. We expressed our frustration at the front desk, but were still charged full price for our stay. Too bad we had been married at the Westin 19 years prior, and this was our wedding anniversary celebration. Not the greatest experience, and frankly, surprising given the cost. Oh, and if you want a classy dining experience, try not having three tv screens on in your restaurant, with on sports highlights and the other showing someone playing video games. Really added to the ambiance, and certainly ruined the efforts of the lovely musician trying to play live music.

My experience was a negative one and providing feedback was worse. The front desk manager was hostile and left me feeling like by sharing feedback I was in the wrong. While staying my fridge wasn't plugged in. I had our seafood dinners in a warm fridge for four hours. It wasn't safe to eat so I had to go to the resting purchase a second meal. So I'm out about 100 dollars. There was no attempt to resolve this, only telling me since the fridge wasn't eventually fixed, it was dealt with. Then when the fridge wasn't fixed it ran loud like something in a cheap motel. I had someone knock on my door in the middle of the night, and because they had no record of someone being dispatched it wasn't their fault either. I've stayed at other resorts more than willing to address loud noise and disruption because they want you to have a good experience. There is no desire to provide good service. It's motel style, you get what you get.

Stayed two nights at the hotel / resort. The heavenly bed is very comfy and the room is clean and tidy. AC in my room did not work properly (can't cool down so I was stuck with a stuffy room). Free breakfast for elite members is nothing to write home about. Day pass ($69) is needed to use the steam room and sauna-very disappointment.
