Altstadt Hotel Magic Luzern

We loved our stay here. The view from our balcony was spectacular.

Stayed in the honeymoon suite with our two boys and parents and there was plenty of room however only one shower. The location is excellent - centrally located and very walkable. Hotel staff was nice and facility was clean. My mom was very happy to have fresh towels every day without asking. No AC and temperatures in the 80's, so an extra oscillating fan would have been nice, but not a deal breaker.

Convenient area, disappointing about the hotel no view at all doesn’t look like a picture shows with balcony only see the house roof very basic room , won’t allow change the room with better view

Worst hotel I’ve stayed at! Sofa was full of disgusting stains, wifi did not work in the room, offensive art work, no air conditioning, small fans provided were far from adequate. Had to open the windows for ventilation and instead of fresh air was choked by cigarette smoke from the restaurant below, people talking loudly late into the night, restaurant workers banging glass and bins in the alleyway facing the bedroom window. Bed was old and thin. Could not sleep, zero comfort. Man at reception was also terribly rude to me because I asked for the Seriously worst experience

Excellent location, right in the heart of old town. Only challenge was that we happened to pick a time when Lucerne was having a heat wave and the room we had was hot and there’s no air conditioning. They did have at least one working fan but it was still very hot

The hotel located exactly at the heart of the old city by the clock tower. For this reason it is very close to markets, visiting locations and restaurants. Checkin and checkout from this hotel is done from another near by hotel and hence this hotel is unstaffed. The room we stayed at the roof and was very hot making impossible to sleep. The shouldnt sell this room to guests in summer. The wooden bed was very old and noisy. One major drawback is that they made credit card blockage and release of this blockage may take 30 days after checkout. Not recommended.

We stayed at the roof room which was very hot during night. We are not able to sleep. In the morning around 5:30 am loadin unloading voices of trucks started. The bed also very old and very noisy. In summer this roof room should not be sold to visitors.

Favorite place that we stayed on our Switzerland trip! Absolutely loved the balcony in our room!

Bed was hard no AC but location was excellent

Location was ideal and I was glad that I saw that check-in is at Hotel Krone, not far down the road. We stayed in the Egyptian room, another flight up stairs from the elevator, manageable for us but something to consider with heavy luggage if you want this room. A tower fan was available as well as a mini-fridge.
