Hotel Trident Poseidon

I have always liked this hotel, every room has an excellent air conditioning system, believe me you are going to need in Jaco. Very good restaurant, you get to see the cooks work on your meal, clean. Try the fried red snapper fresh, it is excellent.

Located in the middle of Jaco Beach which was great...some staff were awesome, some indifferent...value overall...good..

Small breakfast, no parking Close to the beach and all facilities

Dead cockroaches in our room on arrival, mold all over the shower/curtain, ac barely worked and it was sooooo hot. Bed was uncomfortable and the room was barely cleaned. Never going back to this place and we even checked out early and went elsewhere even though they wouldn't refund our room rate.

Lack of maintenance, not for a family. 150 meters from the beach. No Parking you have to pay $10 a night extra to park somewhere else.

The staff was super friendly and bilingual! They went out of their way several times to help us make activity reservations and helped us with unexpected situations that happened while in Costa Rica - that had nothing to do with the hotel itself! The room wasn't five star, but the friendliness and service of all staff members is worth the stay. The restaurant part was super delicious as well. The continental breakfast was fresh fruit and homemade breads but anything besides that you had to pay for.

Great location; service is not great (more below). Owner asked to switch us to another room after 1st night, because another group had 2 rooms together for 7 nights. We switched but asked owner and front desk for discount or 'comp' of free boogie board. Front desk said they'd ask, but we got nothing. Rooms are ok, but our first room had a couple broken beams so the mattresses were slanted. First room's shower curtain was placed wrong so showering leaked out onto the floor making it slippery. Location is amazing! It REALLY is within ~1 block of the beach and within 1-2 blocks of all the main shops & restaurants in downtown Jaco. If you're going to surf, gamble, shop, or drink/party in the area... then this is a great location, since you don't have to drive anywhere. We had no problem parking right in front of the hotel. Everything seemed very safe (even at night; albeit during low season in June).

clean and comfortable. Great food and staff. Will return when I go back to Jaco.

Overall a good experience. Bed was large and comfortable, everything was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Nice included breakfast with excellent cornmeal bread and butter.
