Grande Cayman Resort

The resort was perfect for our family. We had adults from 31-65 and kids from 6-14. Everyone had a blast, there was plenty for each to do. The pools stayed clean and well maintained. The beach was beautiful and not overly crowded. You get text updates during your stay for things like pool closures/re-openings, maintenance, deals at the restaurants, activities going on around the resort. The ladies I spoke with at the front desk were wonderful. We spoke with a couple other staff members that were also very kind and helpful, the majority seem like wonderful people. We arrived at 5 for check in, and our room wasn't ready yet due to cleaning. They said about 30-45min and they would call to have us pick up our room keys. We finally got a call 2 hours later at 7:15. We were a little irritated because it was storming so not much we could do to entertain the kids while waiting. However we understand there are many things they cant control or possible issues behind the scenes. The front desk did really well with making sure we were compensated and thanked us for being patient and kind while others were not as nice about the inconvenience. That whole situation was a very minor inconvenience to us, and I feel was resolved well.

After waiting for our room to be cleaned and getting a late check in we found our room wasn't completely stocked and likely had a very quick turn over without a proper clean. Kitchen utensils in the drawer that had food stuck on, bathroom with hair and dirt on the wall and baseboard in the bathroom, and sand in one of the beds. We also had no bedding for either of the pull out beds. We used the text service to request 1 set of sheets, 2 comforters or blankets, and 2 pillows... we ended up getting a bag dropped at our door with 3 fitted sheets, 2 towels, and 13 pillow cases. We made due for the night because it was midnight by then. 3 days later we come out of our room to new cleaning ladies for the floor, they were talking loudly and one complaining about our room because of a request for extra blankets... right beside our door. Blankets we had requested 3 days earlier and we hadnt called and requested them again nor had we complained even once. We just bought some from Walmart for the kids and made do.
