Lighthouse Hotel - Key West Historic Inns

Comfortable. Well maintained and appointed. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and provided everything we needed. Pool was clean but perhaps a little too warm.

Checking in was an issue. Requested early check-in but rooms weren’t ready so we waited. We were never told they were ready. Finally a half hour after normal check-in we went to the office and found they had been ready for awhile. I’d chalk it up to a failure to communicate during shift change. Other than that from the manager, to the front office, to the bartender, to the cleaning staff, to the maintenance man everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

The location was FANTASTIC. Everything we wanted to see or visit was within walking distance. The room size was perfect for 2. If anyone ever asks me where to stay while visiting KW, I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Lighthouse Hotel.

Room size for "king room" type are all different, our 1st room was very small, moved to larger room which was better, had to move after 3 nights due to bugs in bathroom, bed, etc. 3rd room was smaller than 1st with no closet, no ceiling fan, and workers above in the am with hammers and drills going.

Way to exspensive, floor boards in room were uneven broken in need of repair.

Room could have been nicer and cleaner for paying over $400 a night! And there was paint splatter all over the floor and paint on the mirror frame etc. as if the person painting was a child. The bottom drawer was broken so we couldn't use it and there was dry rot on the closet frame. When we got out of the shower, the white towel on the floor turned dirty every day from the dirty grout or floor. No flexibility for a late check out. Excuse was that they are busy but we could check out late for money though. (I thought it was because they were busy?) Our poor friends who we were with had to change rooms because of a termite infestation and they were downgraded.

Honestly the room was below average. A/C struggling. Bathroom walls had spackling. Shower felt like the floor could give out.

Location is amazing - opposite Ernest Hemmingway house, close to Moondog for brunch and the lighthouse too obviously! Duval street is not far and the most southern point is nearby too!

The staff were not as friendly and helpful as we would have liked. Our room was not in a great way maintenance wise, the door didnt lock properly but eventually the staff did help us fix it.
