Capitán Suizo Beachfront Boutique Hotel

The staff is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. Far surpassed all my expectations.

I stayed here 15 years ago for my honeymoon and came back for my 15th anniversary. It was just as amazing as my first visit. The hotel is right on the beach. The food at the restaurant is top notch. I loved spending my mornings eating mango and gluten free pancakes right on the beach. The bungalows are spectacular. There’s live music twice a week. The sunsets are magical. The local wildlife is amazing. Stay here!!

We considered a few resorts for our 5 day “parents escape” and we are SO glad we chose Capitan Suiza over the others (jardin, the coast, etc). Pictures don’t do this place justice. It is perfectly situated between the busy Tamarindo town and the quiet Langosta beach so that it’s close walking distance to restaurants/shops/bars but on a MUCH less crowded part of the beach. It was *right* on the shoreline and we loved eating the amazing complimentary breakfast in the open air restaurant w ocean views, evening walks through the tidepools and sitting on the padded loungers reading in the shade. We had an end unit ground floor room (27) which was spacious, private and comfortable. The tile and wood furniture added to the authentic feel. The entire property is immaculate and the lush gardens are so well kept they really added to the Costa Rican jungle vibes and made the place feel so private and luxurious. There are so many things about this resort that made for a perfect stay and it was so clear to us how much care and attention to detail the staff give. The *only* criticism we could give is that our bed was a bit hard and we missed having a bath robe. Otherwise- 10/10! We will absolutely be back!

Low efficiency with the price

The location is perfect, a ten minute walk to town. Grounds are very nice and the breakfast buffet is good. We had a bungalow room that was right on the ocean. Pool is great.

A truly unique experience. Rooms and beautiful and comfortable. The grounds are totally integrated with the natural beauty and full of wildlife - monkeys, iguanas, racoons, and lots of varieties of birds. The location at the end of the beach is fabulous. Just a short walk from downtown, but quiet and private. The staff has been at the hotel for years and are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I felt like they cared that we had a great trip. I don't visit a lot of places more than once but Capitan Suizo will be an exception.

Staff was amazing! The views are beautiful even in the rainy season. Food was good, especially the breakfast. We will definitely be back.

We had a balcony room and I loved the way the bathroom and closets were separate from the rest of the room. The mattress was very firm (which was great). I love the size of the property and the way it blends in with the surrounding environment. Overall we had a great stay!
