Best hotel in Tamarindo! A little outside of town which allows for a more private beach to help avoid tourist crowds and solicitors. Easily walkable to town for food and shopping. Great food at the restaurant and a great concierge for amenities at the hotel or any tours outside of the hotel. The rooms are amazing and provide a private feel with natural foliage surrounding the rooms and walkways.

Amazing stay at Capitan Suizo Our stay at Capitan Suizo was the highlight of our 17 days in Costa Rica. The energy of the resort is so captivating. It makes you feel at home and makes you want to come back. It is no surprise that so many people we met keep coming back to Capitan Suizo year after year. The staff are incredible, so helpful and genuine. The grounds are so beautiful and relaxing. We loved our Superior Balcony room. Watched the birds and monkeys in the morning from our balcony while sipping on some yummy Costa Rican Coffee. We were so sad to leave and we are already planning our next stay at Capitan Suizo. We found Costa Ricans to be extremely friendly and kind people. It seems that Capitan Suizo has the top notch Ticos and Ticas as part of the team. A special thank you to Rubia, Max, Ruben, Nixon, Chantal and so many more staff that made us feel so welcome. We loved being in the company of the animals especially the dogs and cats that live on the resort. We highly doubt that there is another resort/hotel that can match what Capitan Suizo has to offer. If you are in Tamarindo, that is where you want to stay !!!

Great relaxing retreat, away from the chaotic and crowded center of Tamarindo, though you do have to drive through the chaos to get there. Beautiful setting with their own resident howler monkeys, iguanas, various birds, and the cats that lounge in the main area. Direct access to the beach on a non-crowded section.

This is one of the best hotels we stayed. Everything was just perfect. From staff to room to location everything was simply great

We loved being on the quiet side of the beach. The food and service are lovely. Howler monkeys in the trees! Would definitely return!

If you're staying in the Tamarindo area you should RUN, not walk, to Capitan Suizo!! It was our first trip to Costa Rica, but all of our pre-trip correspondence with the hotel made it seem like we were visiting family by the time we got there. The lush gardens around our room were incredible and perfect for viewing birds and monkeys. Our room was spotless. The food was delicious. The staff was genuinely warm, friendly and helpful, including their help with a last-minute need for a change in our Covid tests. We've been home less than 24 hours and have already made reservations to go back in November!!

This hotel is exceptional! We loved every second of our stay. The bungalow we stayed in was beautiful. I am well travelled and I have never had better accommodations. The staff was very friendly. The good amazing. The beach glorious. Ten out of ten all around!

This is conveniently located about a half mile beach walk from the beginning of town but it's far enough away from the action to be peaceful and quiet and very safe. The beach here is clean and not crowded. We laid on lounge chairs around the pool and watched monkeys play in the trees above us. The staff was helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant is really wonderful. This is one of the best places I've ever stayed in. You feel like you were in the jungle yet you were close enough to restaurant shops and nightlife, especially if you'd like to walk the beach. I can't wait to return to this place!

I would have given ZERO review if it was available, the Hotel is old and dirty it hasn’t been upgraded for past 20 years if not more, We had ants and cockroach at our bathroom which I have picture I could share. We had chance to stay at other hotel in tamarindo which they had amazing quality & cleanliness, this is disastrous , I’m not sure about the other guests hotel experience but this hotel it’s not 4 star for sure. the hotel pictures had jacuzzi but the rooms that we got it didn’t have even had bath, old and dirty towels…
